The second part of Day 13 involves heading into the Dream Den. A vigorous cave that you need to watch all your digits on. Some familiar sublevel layouts are going to appear in this cave, but they may not be as simple as you could recall.

Early on, I make a grim mistake that costs me nearly all the Purple Pikmin I have. Good grief that hurt, but I'll live...

Sublevel 14 has the last and definite boss of the game that heeds the name Titan Dweevil. It uses some large objects it scavenged to attack in the four major hazard categories: Fire, Water, Electricity and Poison

Fire throws a 260 arc of flame in it's immediate vicinity. Electricity throws metal objects that can attract a current of electricity randomly around it. Poison will throw poison smog in a 4 directions that rotates. Water will throw giant bubbles of water selecting random Pikmin to target (across the entire room). You cannot damage this boss directly... yet. Now here's an explanation of how this particular Dweevil works:

There are two ways to approach this foe - Patient or Aggressive

The Patient Strat looks to pull in Pikmin who are immune to the current hazard as a means to get close and loosen the treasures slowly. I used to do this until I realized how many casualties are possible with this. It also doesn't help that all the hazards this boss emits can knock down your captain (very bad).

The Aggressive Strat will use the Yellow Pikmin (only Yellows) to selectively target treasures to unhinge, beginning with the most hazardous. The treasures are very high up, so only the Yellow Pikmin can be consistently thrown up to them. This method minimizes or eliminate casualties to your Pikmin numbers since you will only be using a small group to attack. The plus side is that you can enjoy loosening parts while the Dweevil is attacking, making it so much easier.

The Titan Dweevil is actually immune to damage until you dislodge the treasures attached to it-- four in all. No damage display appears on these objects, so you won't know if you've knocked anything until it snaps off.

Once exposed, the Titan Dweevil looses the ability to cause any damage to any Pikmin. It's almost helpless, but still carries a ton of life (It might rival the Raging Long Legs). It will claw at Pikmin occasionally to knock them off, but you can just put them back on.

When defeated, claim your remaining treasures and exit. If you have 201 treasures, the day immediately ends as you have collected every single treasure. Time to head home!
