Welcome back! This is actually one of my least favorite parts of the game, because there's just no way to avoid some losses here. As usual, I did much better in my practice runs than while I was recording. But whatevs, I lost 25 Yellow Pikmin...

If I had to do it over again, I would leave all the bugs and pellets for the Yellow Pikmin to pick up. So that they could recover a bit from the losses. I hope I won't have to waste a day building up my numbers for the endgame.

DAY 12 - GUARD SATELLITE

There's a number of ways to get to this part. If you recall from the last video, we built some ramps going south from the Blue Onion. Once you leave the second ramp, swing east. This area should be empty of Fiery Blowhogs and Wollywogs, since we killed them all in the last video.

However in this corridor, you'll see male sheargrubs and shearwigs. You'll want to bring 20-25 Red Pikmin here, to clear this area. If you experience any losses, have some of your reds bring back a bug or pellet to help recoup. Leave 20 Reds here if possible. If not, just send them all back for now.

There's a black bramble fence up ahead and a stone gate beyond that. This is the way I do this next part, however you do not have to. Since I'm taking all my reds back anyway, I take out 10 Yellow Pikmin and take them to the area where we found the Gravity Jumper. There are ten bomb rocks located there.

If the ramp on the other side is not built, you'll need to throw your bomb-wielding Yellow Pikmin back up to the previous area. Remember, if you whistle once at a bomb-wielding Yellow Pikmin, it will come to you as normal. However the second time you whistle at them, they will drop their bombs. So keep that in mind.

I play it safe here and don't whistle at all. If you just walk among them, they should start following you. Now, I take my ten Yellow Pikmin with bomb rocks and use four on the black bramble fence, then the remaining six to take down the stone gate.

You could of course, bring a bunch of Pikmin to tackle the bramble fence. But since you have to get the bomb rocks anyway... might as well us them to the fullest. There are a couple of flame jets just beyond the bramble fence, so you'll need to watch out.

Once the stone gate is down, leave your ten Yellow Pikmin and head back to base. Take out 20 Red Pikmin (if you don't already have them nearby) and 70 more Yellow Pikmin. Leave your 20 Red Pikmin in a safe area outside the stone gate. Reunite your 70 Yellow with the 10 already there and head inside...

BOSS BATTLE - Beady Long Legs

I really hate this boss. It comes out of no where and stomps on you. You need to throw your Pikmin at the bulbous orb-like segment of its body that hangs down in the center. Losses are unavoidable. It appears the best strategy is to kill it as quickly as possible.

When it dies, the orb section will open like a pinata and reveal the GUARD SATELLITE. Do not allow your Yellow Pikmin to carry this out of here, as they will get burned by the flame jets they have to pass along the way. Dismiss your Yellows in a safe area and have your 20 Reds retrieve it.

Once it's out of the immediate area, you can have your Yellows help out. That way the reds can carry all the pellets Beady Long Legs left behind out of harms way as well. It's recommended that you have the yellows carry them home to recoup some of the losses.

Have everyone bring everything home to base, then check for any stragglers. It should be close to sunset, so it's time to wrap things up. Welp, it's time for us to take a break too! Join us next time for 'Ch. 13 - Omega Stabilizer'.
