Here's my fifth installment on the 17 original NES launch titles. Today we're playing 'Pinball'. As the title suggests, Pinball is a game where the player controls the paddles of a virtual pinball machine. The game has two screens to represent the traditional pinball table and one for a bonus mode.

Like most pinball games, you can unlock certain things by either racking up points, or having the ball hit or move to certain areas of the board. At 50,000 points, you earn an extra ball. At 100,000 though, the flippers become invisible! On the top board, you can trigger a slot machine. If the slot machine comes up 7-7-7, a round stopper barrier will be briefly placed between the two flippers. On the bottom board, you can reveal the cards for a royal flush, unlock an exit that takes you back tot he plunger and also access a 'Breakout' style bonus screen where you help Mario save 'Pauline' from Donkey Kong.

Like many of the other launch titles we've explored, this game has no true ending. You simply keep playing until you run out of balls/lives. This video may be brief, but I feel it shows almost all of the gameplay you'll see.
