Producing parts for a fighter jet with a printer may sound like the makings of a Hollywood movie but British Forces News has been given special access to this pioneering technology. 3D printing is being used to produce parts for the Tornado GR4 aircraft, and could save the MOD millions of pounds in manufacturing costs. Defence giant BAE Systems gave a special demonstration of the revolutionary technology at RAF Marham in Norfolk.
