Planet Laika English Patched v1.3 Gameplay chapter 3 - The Red Stone (Spacer) & Medicine Men
Planet Laika (プラネットライカ) is a role-playing video game developed by Quintet and Zeque for the PlayStation home game console. The game follows the main character, Laika, through a mission to Mars which forces the player to manipulate Laika's multiple-personality disorder in order to solve puzzles. All the characters in the game have dog heads, a possible reference to the Soviet space dog Laika. The game was only released in Japan.
Unlike most RPGs, which feature turn-based battles, Planet Laika's are played out almost like Space Invaders and Pong. The player must bounce around a Mind Core and reflect back the enemies' attacks to inflict damage. There are not a lot of battles in the game and enemies only attack when Laika is in one of the special forms.
Entering Herod's Oxygenite Dispensary, Laika meets a pair of characters dressed as a jester and each of them talks in turn followed by a synchronized short spinning dance on one leg (I'm surprised that these two can stand on one leg for almost forever and strangely enough each of them stands on a different side of leg when I observed them. They also do the spinning dance on the opposite rotation side but at the same time. And from how they take turns in talking, siblings maybe?). These two are East and West, East is the one in red standing on the left leg while West is the one in blue standing on the right leg. East asks if Laika came from Earth and in turn, West shouts that he came for Herod. Both of them ask Laika if he will get the red stone but West said that only if he is smart (Hmm....I know just the persona with that level. Coincidentally, Laika's mind scope already shows us who we need here). They tell Laika to go to the mirror room but these two hate looking at themselves in the mirror because the subject itself is taboo to everyone. Well, seems like we have to go get that red stone anyway and Tommy (Seems like both of his personas Rummy and Sammy are asleep this time) said that the door on the Brick Road won't open and not even Boomer can break it down which scared everyone out (So in the past, they also tried to open the door and finally give up because no one can figure out how to open it).
Well then....let's see if Laika can open that door for everyone's sake. Hmm...since Laika can't see it too as he originally doesn't have (He doesn't carry any aura color so I don't think that he bears any influence on anyone here at all), we will need the person in Laika's mind scope now. When Laika examines himself in the mirror, his body glows to the respective color of his mind scope (It's blue instead of red this time) and changes into a different face with blue hair curving upward.
This is Spacer (Supaisa- in Japanese) and he is one of the 3 personalities inside Laika along with Ernest and Yolanda whom he often converses with (Spacer has the same red eyes as Ernest but unlike Ernest's intimidating look, Spacer gives the impression of an eccentric with the smile). Since Spacer here is a Psycho type, he can see the big eyeball standing in front of the door but unlike most Psycho-type citizens here, Spacer relies on logic even though he does have a good grasp of other knowledge (He is the voice of wisdom to other personalities too but Yolanda often call him a smartass for knowing almost everything). When he looks at the floating eyeball, it took him inside the room and another Phase appears before Spacer can take the red stone. This is still an easy battle as long as you keep an eye on the blue Mind Core to reverse the energy bullet sent by Phase back at it. With the red stone, Herod voices his anger at the ISF because he was the one who did everything to rebuild Mars and told the siblings to take Laika to Cell 13 for the night while he tried to sleep.
Herod often has nightmares and that's why he needs Agatha to help control the nightmare. A girl named Veronica told Laika about a girl in Night Planet and to be careful because everyone hates Smokey there. When April stopped Smokey from hitting Laika, Gold told them to get out of Night Planet and outside, a boy named Cosmas told them to find the Medicine Men but Mountain knows the password to their house. Turns out that the Medicine Men only use a single digit as the password (Not a clever idea of them). One of the Medicine Men named Noble Rock takes them to the Elder (White Eagle). Eagle explains about the prophecy and April guesses that Galil must also be affected by such prophecy (That explains his god complex and MIA status).
Note: Starting from this point, whenever Laika used the other personality to do specific action...I will spell out the name of the persona in punctuation () for that character replacing Laika.
