One feature about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 that has so many people, myself included, excited is the prospect that we'll soon be able to enjoy Nintendo Switch Games in 4K when docked and connected to a Television. But what if you didn't have to wait for the Switch 2 to get those upgraded visuals? What if you could play the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, one of the admittedly best looking games on the system, today and in 4K? Oh, and you could do so on a LAUNCH DAY Nintendo Switch or Switch OLED? You can do just that thanks to the RetroTink 4K from Mike Chi on Current Nintendo Switch Hardware.

All I can say is WOW, the Nintendo Switch and Breath of the Wild look absolutely amazing when going through the RetroTInk 4K! The image recreation is fantastic, the lag and delay is non-existent, and the overall performance is second to none. The sound quality is also fantastic, which I totally appreciate. To make it easier on my PC to handle the 4K capture I did record in 4K, 30FPS, but the RetroTink 4K can output 60FPS as well. Now you do need to have a monitor or display capable of displaying that resolution and frame rate, but if you do I recommend you give it a try!

While the RetroTink 4K is a beast, it also has a hefty price tag. to address this, Mike and RetroTink have recently announced the RetroTink 4K CE which has most of the same features for the everyday gamer but a lower price. This will let more people take advantage of this technology without having to sell a kidney.

What I love most about this is that I can repeat this performance over and over again with all my original cartridges and many different systems. Mike Chi has outdone himself with the RetroTink 4K, and while it is an expensive device it's also an amazing device. If you have the chance to try one out I highly recommend it.
