Playstation 1 Game Play Monster Rancher Hop-a-Boat
0Monster Rancher Hop-A-Bout's gameplay involves navigating the player's chosen character to the end of a board in each level.
The character constantly hops in place, and can be steered left or right, while moving up or down increases or decreases forward momentum. Each board is located high in the sky, and the player must take care not to fall off the side or down a pit, as falling results in a loss of a life. Losing all your lives results in a game over. The levels also have a time limit.
To make things more challenging, many panels appear on each board that can cause various effects, such as sending your monster in the indicated direction or increasing/decreasing the remaining time.
The game features a Single Player mode, a VS mode, and a level editor. Single Player mode also allows the player to practice before taking on the game's main levels, and features several items from the main games to collect.
