Версия для приставки NES является классическим платформером-shoot 'em up с боковым скроллингом для одного игрока. Сюжет игры приближен к сюжету фильма и также, как и дизайн уровней, передаёт атмосферу фильма. Уникальной особенностью RoboCop 3, отличающей её от предыдущих частей, является наличие уровня получаемых повреждений для каждой части тела в отдельности. При высоком повреждении рук начинаются проблемы со стрельбой, ног — проблемы при передвижении. В перерывах между уровнями есть возможность устранить повреждения. Так же в этой части Робокоп может свободно прыгать, как и в предыдущей части игры на NES. Игра имеет пять уровней. Компания «OCP» и японская компания «Канэмицу» заключили договор на предмет строительства на территории старого Детройта нового города под названием «Дельта Сити». Робокоп намерен защитить повстанцев и сразиться с роботами-ниндзя. Задача игрока помочь повстанцам продержаться три дня, собирать оружие для восстания против OCP, сражаться с роботами-ниндзя и сорвать планы и сделку «OCP» с «Канэмицу». События игры вкратце повторяют моменты фильма. Здесь вы очутитесь на мрачных улицах ночного Детройта, побываете на заброшенном заводе, взлетите на реактивном ранце, переживете обстрел из танка, сразитесь с вооруженной шпаной и чужеземными киборгами-ниндзя. Все это потрясающе выглядит, как в плане красивейшей, мультяшной графики, так и грамотно подобранной озвучки. Музыка так вообще бесподобна. Геймплей увлекателен. Робокоп тяжеловат, и нужно не позволять более быстрым врагам всаживать в героя пули. На уровнях попадаются секретные комнаты с призами. Некоторые лечилки можно использовать только во время ремонта Робокопа, тратьте их осмотрительно. Качественная игра по фильму во всех отношениях.

Everybody's favorite cyborg cop returns to the Nintendo in ROBOCOP 3. The OCP has deployed Rehab Officers to wipe out Old Detroit in preparation for the erection of Delta City. Now it's up to RoboCop to join the fight against the Rehabs and save Detroit from total destruction. As RoboCop, you have a newly redesigned suit which includes a multi-weapon arm attachment that has a large-bore cannon and a smart bomb as you take to the streets and make Detroit safe again. You'll face hordes of ED-209s, tanks, heavy artillery, and OCP's newest weapon: OTOMO. The entire city is counting on you, RoboCop, to clean up the streets and restore order. RoboCop 3 is a video game based on the 1993 film of the same name. Amiga, Atari ST and DOS versions were developed by Digital Image Design beginning in September 1990, and published by Ocean Software in December 1991. The Digital Image Design version includes multiple gameplay styles. During 1992 and 1993, other versions consisting of side-scrolling platform gameplay were released for the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, NES, Super NES, Game Gear, Master System, and Sega Genesis. The Digital Image Design version consists of five different game segments that include driving; shooting enemies to rescue hostages; hand-to-hand combat; flying a jet pack; and battling a robot ninja. This version includes the Arcade Action option, which allows the player to play any of the game's five sequences as a single mission with its own plot and mission objectives. The player can also play the game's sequences as part of an overall adventure story known as Movie Adventure with more characters and different enemies. For much of the Movie Adventure mode, the player is allowed to play any mission rather than following a specific arrangement. During this mode, the player can also choose to abort missions, which affects enemies' decisions as well as the plot. In between levels, a news broadcast is played to inform the player of the story and advance the game
