My first play of Pocket Bomberman on the Nintendo GameBoy. No commentary.

I captured this footage while playing on a real GameBoy using the GB Interceptor made by Sebastian Staacks of @ThereOughtaBe.

This is the first time I've ever played Pocket Bomberman, but it didn't take long to get familiar with the way it plays.
I was enjoying myself during this recording but it all fell apart on Area 2 of Ocean (the second zone) where I came across what I thought was a game breaking bug! (22:15)
For some reason my bombs just stopped exploding, and if bombs don't explode you can't lay down new ones. It seemed that the only way out of it was to suicide and start the level again but it kept happening.

At first I thought the bug was introduced by the presence of the GB Interceptor, but I tried afterwards just playing with the cartridge directly in the GameBoy and I was able to reproduce it.

I have since realised that this is no bug after all... in fact the bombs stop exploding after I collect the "Remote-Controller" power-up. I didn't realise it at the time, but this power up gives you the ability to manually explode the bombs by pressing the "select" button... the one button I didn't think of trying!

So, this play through was cut short because.. well, I didn't read the manual 😆
