POD (aka Planet Of Death) was one of the first 3D accelerated racing games, with versions optimised for all manner of 3D cards (and MMX/software versions too). Here I'm showing the extended POD Gold version, running on 3Dfx Glide via dgVoodoo2, which (for some reason) limits me to 640x480 resolution (though you can bump that up using dgVoodoo2 if you wish).
In this video I've included 30 seconds of each of the 32 tracks in POD Gold, along with all 16 vehicles. I missed out the optional F1 cars, as I covered them already in this video: • POD Gold (1997) - Every PC F1 Game
POD was a very popular game of the time, despite it's somewhat simplistic graphics, it still plays well, even today. Music is just one long track, so it can get a bit repetitive, but it's atmospheric!
