"Poisoned" Chocolates Recipe Tutorial from Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned For Danger
So maybe Rick Arlen wasted a perfectly good box of chocolates because he thought someone was trying to poison him, but that doesn't mean we have to! Join us in making some *suspicious* chocolates to gift your (least) favorite person, or just make yourself some to enjoy while playing Nancy Drew or watching reruns of Light of Our Love.
“Poisoned” Chocolates
1¼ cups Chocolate Chips - whether milk chocolate or darker is up to you
1/3 cup Heavy Cream
1 Tbsp Butter
Mini Marshmallows (optional)
Tabasco (optional)
Almonds or Other Nuts (optional)
Melt ¾ cup of the chocolate in a double boiler until smooth. Evenly coat the bottom and sides of a candy mold and freeze until set, saving remaining melted chocolate.
Meanwhile, combine remaining 1/2 cup chocolate with cream and butter and melt. Mostly fill the chocolate shells with the chocolate cream and whatever other fillings you like- Tabasco for your “poisoned” chocolates. Freeze and finish sealing with remaining melted chocolate. Chill in fridge until set and enjoy.
