Turns out that there is something even more classic than apple pie: Apple Crisp! It's every bit as delicious but far more beginner friendly. Find that hard to believe? Give it a try!

Moon Lake Apple Crisp

3 Apples of your preferred variety
1-3 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (depends on apples used)
¼ tsp. Vanilla Extract (optional)
1 tsp. Cinnamon, divided
½ tsp. Ground Ginger, divided
Dash Nutmeg
½ cup Brown Sugar
½ cup Flour
2/3 cup Old Fashioned Oatmeal
5 Tbsp Butter, divided and melted

Peel and core apples and cut into bite sized pieces. Toss with granulated sugar, ½ tsp. cinnamon, ¼ tsp. ginger, vanilla, and 1 Tbsp butter. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, nutmeg, and remaining cinnamon and ginger. Stir in 4 Tbsp butter to form a crumb mixture. Place apples in a greased baking dish and top with oatmeal crumble. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until crumb layer begins to brown.
