Time for a new Mystery Gift event in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, which is live from April 1st till April 30th, and you obtain the Member Card, which allows you to access the abandoned inn at Canalave City, and you encounter a Mythical Pokémon called Darkrai at Newmoon Island.

To get the Member Card, you have to go into Mystery Gift, and this is live from April 1st till April 30th, and it is an Internet distribution, you don't need a code to get the Member Card. Once you have obtained it, go to Canalave City and enter the abandoned inn that is above the Pokémon Center, and you need to have completed the game and have visited Sailor Eldritch's house, where his son will have fallen into a nightmare, and I believe you needed to have visited Fullmoon Island and interacted with Cresselia there.
When you enter the inn, there is a shady man there, and you go to sleep in the bed, which will take you to Newmoon Island, which is next to Fullmoon Island on the map, and on that island is Darkrai, a Mythical Pokémon said to cause nightmares, it is Dark-type Pokémon.
Darkrai is Level 50, and its moves are Double Team, Foul Play, Sucker Punch, and Hypnosis, if it uses Double Team too often, it can make it harder to hit, if you have a Pokémon that knows Haze, use that to remove the evasion buffs it receives from Double Team, and it has Bad Dreams for its Ability, so if you get put to sleep with Hypnosis, you will take damage at the end of each turn while you are sleeping.
As for weakening it, if you have a Pokémon with False Swipe and a move that inflicts status conditions, like sleep or paralysis, that can help with catching it. After catching Darkrai, you will hear a voice, which tells why Darkrai is on Newmoon Island, and how Fullmoon Island is close by should anyone fall into a nightmare, and this was not in the original Diamond & Pearl, it was in Platinum where that voice happens. Then you wake up and a sailor will come and tell you that the inn was abandoned 50 years ago, that sailor could be Eldritch.
I could go over Darkrai as a Pokémon, it has high Speed and a very good Special Attack stat, its signature move is Dark Void, which it learns at Level 66, and this move puts both targets to sleep in a Double Battle, but the move got nerfed, it has 50 accuracy, which is a massive nerf to Darkrai, meaning Hypnosis is its more reliable sleep inducing move. Darkrai learns Nasty Plot at Level 75, and Dark Pulse at Level 93, so it can work as a dangerous Special Attacker once it sets up Nasty Plot and it can deal huge damage with Dark Pulse, that is if it can land Hypnosis before setting up, it can use Dream Eater to heal off the damage. Darkrai learns some good TM moves, like Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast, and many others, it can use Snarl when used in a Double Battle, and it does get some good status moves like Taunt, Thunder Wave, Will-O-Wisp, and some other moves. You can even make Darkrai a Physical Attacker to surprise opponents, it can use Swords Dance, Sucker Punch, X-Scissor, Rock Slide, Focus Punch, Drain Punch, Poison Jab, and a bunch of other Physical Moves.
Another thing to do with Dark Void's nerf is that Darkrai is the only Pokémon that can use that move, if any other Pokémon tries to use it, it will fail, even if a Pokémon uses a move like Metronome, and this was because in Gen 6 Double Battles, Smeargle would use that to put targets to sleep, and this was what resulted in Dark Void being banned in online battles.
