Pokemon Colosseum - stealing pokemon [good guy alert] (teddyras)
3Nintendo hired a bunch of ex-dragon quest devs and made them make a pokemon game for gen 3. They did a great job, if not for some wonky design here and there. They made the game harder as they intended it for an older audience: the people that were 11 when the 1st games came out in 1996 in japan, who were now 18.
Honestly I want them to make another pokemon game that exclusively uses double battles; this format just makes more interesting battles. I also enjoy the strange combination of pokemon they put in this game that both let them fill up a lot of gen 2 pokemon net dex slots on gen 3 gameboy carts and make you usually have to take worse pokemon than you could normally get. I also don't understand the order they give you these pokemon because later on they will throw bad pokemon like sunflora or one off no evolution bois like aipom or sneasel (it aint get 4 yet) when you already probably have a team of 6 better guys and you could have already gotten something like a quilfish that sucks ages ago and purified it.
Anywhooser, love the steal mechanic, more interesting than having to grind in tall grass and hoping you find the cool guy. Instead, you find some dogass pokemon a trainer throws out and you're like, yeah I guess I'll catch a linoone. It's too bad nintendo and game freak have gone on record saying they'll never make another pokemon game like this ever again multiple times over the years, cause these games are cool. Might need to check out xD later.
