Before this month comes to a close, here are the top 50 most used Pokémon for double battles for March 2023 in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, according to Pokémon HOME. The numbers in parentheses represent the change in rank from the previous month (February 2023) to this one. Though there aren't any new Pokémon allowed in from February to March, there were in April--the Ruinous Legends, AKA the Treasures of Ruin--so my next month's report will have some new entries. Just not this one:

1. Flutter Mane (±0)
2. Iron Bundle (±0)
3. Iron Hands (±0)
4. Great Tusk (+2)
5. Amoonguss (-1)
6. Dragonite (+6)
7. Arcanine (-2)
8. Gholdengo (±0)
9. Armarouge (±0)
10. Indeedee (Female) (±0)
11. Talonflame (+4)
12. Annihilape (+2)
13. Torkoal (±0)
14. Kingambit (-3)
15. Roaring Moon (-8)
16. Tyranitar (+5)
17. Maushold (+6)
18. Baxcalibur (+9)
19. Palafin (+7)
20. Brute Bonnet (-4)
21. Garganacl (-2)
22. Dondozo (-4)
23. Ceruledge (+18)
24. Tatsugiri (-4)
25. Grimmsnarl (±0)
26. Garchomp (+2)
27. Murkrow (-3)
28. Sylveon (-6)
29. Pelipper (±0)
30. Iron Moth (-13)
31. Glimmora (+8)
32. Meowscarada (±0)
33. Scizor (+1)
34. Gothitelle (+3)
35. Scream Tail (-2)
36. Volcarona (-5)
37. Gastrodon (-7)
38. Sableye (+13)
39. Iron Jugulis (+8)
40. Lycanroc (Day) (+10)
41. Farigiraf (-5)
42. Sandy Shocks (-7)
43. Hydreigon (-3)
44. Hatterene (+5)
45. Corviknight (-1)
46. Mimikyu (-7)
47. Lilligant (Unovan) (+18)
48. Abomasnow (-5)
49. Gyarados (-1)
50. Rotom (Wash) (-4)

No Paradox Pokémon gained rank within the top 50, with the biggest tumbles among them being Roaring Moon (-8), a big deal because it had been thrown out of the top 10 in one month; and of Iron Moth (-13), the biggest drop of this list.

The Pokémon that moved up the furthest are Ceruledge and Lilligant, both up 18, and Sableye, up 13. Lilligant and Sableye have moved up into the top 50 after an absence in February; for Lilligant, this is her first time in the top 50. Ceruledge's climb appears to be because it pairs really well with Iron Bundle, able to fight any Pokémon that would give Iron Bundle trouble. Sableye is a disruption Pokémon, with four status moves that benefit from Prankster: Light Screen, Reflect, Encore, and Disable, holding a Light Clay. Its purpose is to reduce damage with dual screens while rendering an opponent's Pokémon stuck with Struggle with Encore and Disable unless they switch out. Sableye is not as popular as Grimmsnarl for screen-setting, however, who is 13 ranks ahead.

Lilligant may be the most puzzling of them all, as she had never found much usage in any generation besides her debut in Generation V. During then, she took advantage of pre-nerf Confusion with Teeter Dance and Petal Dance, with Own Tempo ensuring she doesn't get confused at the end. This time, Lilligant was given After You, which is key to a killer combo with Torkoal if she has Chlorophyll: under harsh sunlight, she has the fastest After You in the entire series, allowing Torkoal to launch off Eruptions near-guaranteed at full HP and faster than almost anything short of a priority move.

For the record, the remaining Paradox Pokémon are Iron Valiant at 52nd (-9), Iron Treads at 56th (+3), Slither Wing at 81st (-15), and Iron Thorns at 86th (-18). Iron Treads was the only Paradox Pokémon to have risen from February to March 2023.

Type: Double Battle
Opponent: Cusca
Battle Court: Mesagoza (Central Plaza)
Music: Ruinous Legend
My Pokémon: Dragalge, Froslass, Tauros (Blaze), Florges
Opponent's Pokémon: Aquali (Vaporeon), Nymphali (Sylveon), Givrali (Glaceon), Pyroli (Flareon)

Remember how last generation, I had a shiny Umbreon on my team? His name is Blake. I spent over a week hatching Eevee until I got one that was shiny. Well, all four of my opponent's Pokémon are shiny, so they might have spent four times as long as me hatching Eevee. Likely six times as long, as I'm going to guess that the other two are are shiny too. Unless they used illegitimate methods of getting shiny Pokémon, in which case, that's the lazy way out that invalidates the spoils of shiny hunting.

Like my previous encounter with an Eevelutions Team, this one does not match the lineup of Penny's team. She lacks a Glaceon and an Espeon on her team, whereas this one lacks a Jolteon and an Espeon. You can see the video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kvF09h6Ens

And like the previous one, this Vaporeon (Aquali) seems to have had all of his Effort Points spent towards defense (probably the most of it towards Defense, with a capital "D"), considering how little damage he was taking from near everything. Now, my Florges isn't EV-trained much in Sp. Attack, being a support Pokémon, but it's normally not minuscule like that! The people playing in the Global Challenges are definitely a step up from the regular crowd, even with themed teams like this, and that means I need to be on my best to keep up.

For the record, my opponent's Pokémon names are in French. They follow Eevee's French name of Évoli.
