This week, I will be trading Tauros, and this is the first Surprise Trade that I have ever did in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet where I trade a Pokémon that has many different forms. In this case, I went with the Blaze Breed and the Aqua Breed of Paldean Tauros, I didn't go with the Combat Breed as that is outclassed by the other two forms, and the Normal-type Tauros from Kanto isn't worth using due to powercreep.
I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and by the way, the word "Breed" in their form name does not have anything to do with breeding, that is what their form is called. I went with Jolly for the Nature, Paldean Tauros can work with an Impish Nature as well, and I wasn't sure about going with Cud Chew, the Hidden Ability, as it already has Intimidate and Anger Point for its normal Abilities.
All forms of Tauros learn Endeavor and Curse for Egg Moves, it gets Curse from the Numel line and Torkoal, and it can learn Endeavor from Dunsparce, Litleo, and Grookey.
To go over Tauros's moves, all of the Paldean Tauros forms get Tackle, Tail Whip, Work Up, Double Kick, Headbutt, Scary Face, Zen Headbutt, Raging Bull, Rest, Swagger, Thrash, and Close Combat. Combat Breed Tauros learns Assurance and Double-Edge, Blaze Breed can get Flame Charge and Flare Blitz, and Aqua Breed can learn Aqua Jet and Wave Crash. The Normal-type Tauros learns Payback, Horn Attack, and Giga Impact if you are wondering.
Next are TMs, and I will mainly be going over what the Paldean Tauros can learn, it can get Take Down, Thief, Trailblaze, Facade, Bulldoze, Rock Tomb, Smart Strike, Dig, Bulk Up, Body Slam, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, Body Press, Iron Head, Drill Run, Reversal, Wild Charge, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Giga Impact, Outrage, Hyper Beam, and Tera Blast. The Blaze Breed can learn Fire Spin, Will-O-Wisp, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, and Overheat, while the Aqua Breed can learn Water Pulse, Chilling Water, Liquidation, Surf, and Hydro Pump.
There isn't much reason to go over Tauros, or well, the Normal-type variant from Kanto because it has lost its title of being the best Pokémon in competitive battling due to powercreep, Combat Breed is at least decent, but it is outclassed by Blaze Breed and Aqua Breed due to their secondary types. The signature move of Raging Bull changes types based on the Tauros's form, for example, Blaze Breed Tauros's Raging Bull is a Fire-type move, while it is a Water-type move for the Aqua Breed.
For advantages, the Blaze Breed can make use of Close Combat and Flare Blitz for powerful moves, Raging Bull is a good move as that can break screens, Earthquake is there for type coverage, and if it has an Impish Nature and has some Defense investment, Tauros can make use of Body Press. Paldean Tauros is said to be one of the best counters to the Treasures of Ruin, they resist both Chien-Pao and Chi-Yu's STAB moves, and can defeat them with Close Combat or Body Press.
The Aqua Breed can learn Wave Crash and Aqua Jet for Water-type moves, the one advantage it has over the Blaze Breed is access to a priority move, for a Tera Type, it can go with Fairy, Steel, or Electric for a better defensive type, or when using Tera Blast, have a way to take on opponents it cannot otherwise take on, the Blaze Breed can make use of a Grass Tera Type with Trailblaze to give it a way to take on Water-type opponents.
In Double Battles, Paldean Tauros has Intimidate, which is a great Ability, Close Combat and Raging Bull are its main moves, Aqua Breed can use Wave Crash or Aqua Jet for its Water-type move, while Blaze Breed can use Flame Charge or Trailblaze for a way to boost its Speed.
When fighting Tera Raid Battles, Paldean Tauros with Anger Point can be good against Pokémon that can use moves with a high crit rate, for example, moves like Stone Edge can make them the best counters for those Pokémon, and with Close Combat and either Wave Crash or Flare Blitz depending on its form, and with the right teammates, it can take out the Tera Raid Pokémon in one attack, or if it has a teammate like Froslass or Cryogonal which can use Frost Breath on Tauros to activate Anger Point, or Flower Trick from Meowscarada when using the Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros, as it resists Flower Trick, and a teammate with Screech to decrease the Tera Raid Pokémon's Defense to boost the chance of Tauros taking down the opponent in one attack.
