Here is this week's Surprise Trade, and the Pokémon that I will be trading is Wooper, and I am trading both forms, the original and the Paldean Form. I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I do have Unaware on most of them, the standard Wooper have a Relaxed Nature, and Paldean Wooper have a Careful Nature, this because their respective final forms have a higher Defense stat, Quagsire being more phyiscally defensive, and Clodsire has a higher Special Defense.
To go over Egg Moves, both forms of Wooper learn Double Kick, Counter, Recover, Curse, Ancient Power, Stockpile, Spit Up, Swallow, Acid Spray, and After You, while only Paldean Wooper can get Mist and Haze. For moves that I went with, the standard Wooper has Recover, Curse, Stockpile, and Counter, while for Paldean Wooper, the difference is I have Haze instead of Counter.
Going over moves, both forms learn Tail Whip, Mud Shot, Slam, Yawn, Amnesia, Toxic, and Earthquake, Wooper learns Water Gun, Rain Dance, Mist, Haze, Aqua Tail, and Muddy Water, and Paldean Wooper learns Tackle, Poison Tail, Toxic Spikes, Poison Jab, and Sludge Wave. Both forms evolve at Level 20, Wooper evolving into Quagsire, and Paldean Wooper evolving into Clodsire, and for moves, Clodsire learns Megahorn.
Next are TMs, I will go over both evolved forms first, they get Mud-Slap, Water Pulse, Trailblaze, Chilling Water, Bulldoze, Rock Tomb, Dig, Body Slam, Waterfall, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Liquidation, Stealth Rock, Surf, Earth Power, Hydro Pump, Sludge Bomb, Stone Edge, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Tera Blast, High Horsepower, Double-Edge, Muddy Water, Sludge Wave, and Curse. For moves Quagsire can learn, it can get Thief, Icy Wind, Avalanche, Brick Break, Ice Punch, Drain Punch, Eerie Impulse, Encore, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Focus Blast, Focus Punch, and Whirlpool, and for moves Clodsire can learn, it can get Low Kick, Venoshock, Zen Headbutt, Body Press, Iron Head, Gunk Shot, and Heavy Slam.
Quagsire has had an interesting history in the competitive scene, despite its base stat total being kind of average, its highest stat is HP and it has a base Defense of 85, which is decent, but it's nowhere as high as the best defensive Pokémon, it has even seen use in the Uber tier as one of the few Pokémon able to check Zacian. Quagsire's notable set uses the Hidden Ability of Unaware, and its moves are Earthquake, Recover, Toxic, and Scald, but it has lost Scald in the generation shift, Quagsire can set up entry hazards like Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Toxic Spikes, and it can boost its defensive stats with Stockpile. Its best Tera Type options are Steel or Fairy as it is slow and it wants to go with a defensive Tera Type, but then again Quagsire does have a good type combo where it doesn't have many weaknesses, its only one being Grass, Fire is a good Tera Type to resist Grass-type moves, and it can even be useful if you are using Water Absorb on Quagsire.
Then for Clodsire, the difference is that it has much higher HP than Quagsire, and it is more focused on Special Defense, and it can use a similar set with Unaware and moves like Earthquake, Recover, and Toxic, and Clodsire can also set up entry hazards with Spikes and Stealth Rock, it can use Curse to set up. Clodsire can work with a Water Tera Type, as Water is another Tera Type that is good for defensive Pokémon as Water doesn't have many weaknesses.
Neither evolved forms see use in Double Battles, Clodsire can provide support with Toxic and Helping Hand, but there are better Pokémon for Ground-type options, and while low Speed can be good for Trick Room, they are not that good offensively, and they face competition with Skeledirge, Dondozo, and Clefable for Pokémon with Unaware in Double Battles.
They are good Pokémon when going through the game, while the low Speed is a drawback, Paldean Wooper's early access to Poison Tail can help out, and Clodsire does remain good throughout the game with moves like Poison Jab and Earthquake for its main attacks, and Recover to heal up, Water Absorb is not a bad Ability on either evolved form.
They can provide support in Tera Raid Battles, I have seen some Clodsire sets that use Acid Spray and Earth Power to help out, but it is more of a support Pokémon, and its high HP and Special Defense can be really helpful in taking hits, and with Quagsire, there are better options for Water or Ground-type Pokémon, but it can be a decent pick, it does require support to do well in Tera Raid Battles.
