Before starting the Tera Raid Event, I show a Mystery Gift Code which ties in with Paldean Winds, an animated series themed around Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and you get a Revavroom with a Fighting Tera Type from this one.
To complete the Hisuian Starter Pokémon, next up is Hisuian Samurott in the 7 Star Tera Raid Event, this one does have the Water Tera Type, and this one is a very tricky opponent. Hisuian Samurott has Razor Shell, Ceaseless Edge, X-Scissor, and Sacred Sword for its moves, and its extra moves are Swords Dance, Bulldoze, and Focus Energy, and it does have the Hidden Ability of Sharpness to increase the power of attacks like Razor Shell and X-Scissor.
For scripted actions, Hisuian Samurott starts off with Swords Dance, then after a turn, it will then use Bulldoze. Hisuian Samurott will put up a shield when its HP is at 80% or there is 87% time remaining, around then, Samurott resets your stat changes, which it will do again at 50% time, and Samurott can reset its own stats at 65% HP, and at 50% HP, it will use Focus Energy to increase its critical hit ratio, making this a very difficult opponent to take out.
My initial strategy was to use Torterra, this is because Torterra has Shell Armor, which means that it won't be affected by critical hits and with Iron Defense, it takes less damage, but it didn't work because Torterra was defeated in one X-Scissor from Samurott, and my other option was Eelektross, and even that was taken out in one Razor Shell. I didn't want to use Miraidon as I knew a lot of players would use that, so I had to go with a support option, and the Pokémon I chose for that role was Clefable, which I gave Reflect, Light Dew, and Chilling Water to help reduce the damage done from Samurott's attacks, and I changed Clefable's Ability to Unaware so that Samurott's stat boosts won't have any effect on Clefable. I have seen many players use Victreebel for this one, and the strategy was to use Gastro Acid to remove Samurott's Ability, and Victreebel can get Strength Sap to heal while also lowering Samurott's Attack after use. I have seen some solo strategies, like Shaymin Sky Form which can use Worry Seed to change Samurott's Ability to Insomnia, and then use Seed Flare, which with Serene Grace had an 80% chance of decreasing Special Defense, but the downside is that Shaymin isn't that good at taking hits, which was where Giga Drain comes in on the set.
Going over Hisuian Samurott, and compared to the original variant, the difference is Hisuian Samurott has higher Attack, and it trades some of its defensive stats for Speed, this is to make it work as a lead, because its signature move Ceaseless Edge sets up spikes when used, and this a Pokémon that you wouldn't normally obtain in the game, as you need Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon HOME to even obtain Hisuian Samurott in the first place, but at least this event gives players a chance to get Hisuian Samurott without the need for them. Its Hidden Ability of Sharpness works well with moves like Aerial Ace, Razor Shell, Slash, Night Slash, Fury Cutter, and many other moves, and Sacred Sword is an Egg Move, but at least it comes with it. It can use Swords Dance to increase its Attack, Hisuian Samurott does have a decent Special Attack stat, but with Sharpness for its Ability, you will find that physical attacks are preferred. It can get Aqua Jet for priority, and for TM moves, it can learn Bulldoze, Smart Strike, False Swipe, Brick Break, Grass Knot, Taunt, X-Scissor, Drill Run, Liquidation, Ice Beam, Knock Off, Vacuum Wave, and Flip Turn for possible moves. Hisuian Samurott's main role on teams is as a lead, and Ghost is a preferred Tera Type to give it an immunity to most priority moves, like Extreme Speed, Mach Punch, and Fake Out, and for item, Choice Scarf to ensure Samurott can outspeed most Pokémon, or Focus Sash to make sure it can survive an attack in order to set up some spikes with Ceaseless Edge, it can use Aqua Cutter as an alternative over Razor Shell, while Aqua Cutter has less power, it is more accurate. For Tera Raid Battles, Hisuian Samurott can work as a Water-type or as a Dark-type, and Sharpness works well with Razor Shell and Night Slash, it can use Swords Dance and Screech to help in battles, while it does compete with Crawdaunt as a Water/Dark-type in Tera Raid Battles, this is because Crawdaunt has higher Attack and access to Adaptability, while Hisuian Samurott has higher Speed. I don't know if we will see the Sinnoh Starters in the Tera Raid Battles, and with Indigo Disk coming soon, if ever other Starter Pokémon, like Incineroar, Swampert, Meganium, or any other Pokémon make an appearance in the 7 Star Tera Raid Events.
