Next up is Challenge Cup Great Ball, the Pokémon are at Level 45 for this one, and I don't know if I went over this in the previous part, but Challenge Cup is my favourite out of the four cups, this is because the team you get is random, as well as their moves, sometimes you can get good moves, and sometimes you can get bad moves, for example, Chinchou can get Surf, or you can end up with Water Gun. Sometimes you can get a move that can work as a combo, for example, Chinchou can get Rain Dance and Thunder, or other combo moves like Sunny Day and SolarBeam, or Defense Curl and Rollout, on the Pokémon.
List of Pokémon that can be used in Challenge Cup Great Ball.
Ivysaur, Wartortle, Butterfree, Beedrill, Pidgeotto, Pikachu, Nidorina, Nidorino, Clefairy, Gloom, Parasect, Meowth, Psyduck, Mankey, Growlithe, Poliwhirl, Abra, Machoke, Weepinbell, Tentacool, Graveler, Farfetch'd, Doduo, Gastly, Onix, Voltorb, Cubone, Lickitung, Koffing, Rhyhorn, Staryu, Eevee, Porygon, Omanyte, Kabuto, Bayleef, Croconaw, Ledian, Ariados, Chinchou, Togetic, Natu, Flaaffy, Azumarill, Skiploom, Aipom, Yanma, Wobbuffet, Dunsparce, Teddiursa, Magcargo, Corsola, Delibird, Houndour, Phanpy, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby

Here is my team that I got for Challenge Cup Great Ball.
Houndour: Ember, Attract, Crunch, Endure (BlackGlasses)
Onix: Curse, Dig, Attract, Rock Throw (Scope Lens)
Elekid: Fire Punch, Toxic, Leer, ThunderPunch (Ice Berry)
Psyduck: Icy Wind, Swagger, Confusion, Surf (Mystic Water)
Yanma: Giga Drain, Double Team, Supersonic, Swift (MysteryBerry)
Machoke: Focus Energy, Vital Throw, Sunny Day, Dig (Black Belt)

I got some good options to make use of, the Scope Lens on Onix boosts its critical hit rate, and I have a MysteryBerry on Yanma, the MysteryBerry is what the Leppa Berry was in this generation, it restores 5 PP of a move when it reaches 0 PP, and while it usually gives a STAB move, or Same Type Attack Bonus, Yanma cannot learn any Bug-type moves in Gold & Silver, it does technically get Leech Life, but that is an Egg Move, and Egg Moves cannot appear in Challenge Cup, it can get Wing Attack, but that is only in Crystal. I do like the Houndour that I got, even though I don't like how it has Ember instead of better options like Flamethrower or Fire Blast.
I will list each of the Trainers and what types they tend to specialize in.
Battle 1: Twins Jan & Jane
Types: Bug x4

Battle 2: Schoolboy Oliver
Types: Ground x2 / Rock x4

Battle 3: Sailor Curt
Types: Ice / Water x4

Battle 4: Swimmer♀ Darcy
Types: Normal x4

Battle 5: Officer Gerald
Types: Fire x3 / Grass x3

Battle 6: Kimono Girl Emiko
Types: Various

Battle 7: Scientist Roberto
Types: Dark, Ghost, Psychic x2

Battle 8: Gentleman Travis
Types: Various

In Challenge Cup Great Ball, the Pokémon used are mostly mid-stage Pokémon, like Pidgeotto, Graveler, and Flaaffy, and there are some unevolved Pokémon, usually those that have good stats like Abra, Gastly, and Houndour, and some fully evolved Pokémon with low base stat totals, like Ledian, Butterfree, and Magcargo, it is mostly Pokémon that have a base stat total of 300 to 415, the lowest is Meowth, which has a base stat total of 290, and the highest is Dunsparce with a base stat total of 415.
Going over the Trainers, and while they specialize in different types, they can use Pokémon of other types, for example, Twins Jan & Jane mainly use Bug-type Pokémon, the other two can be Pokémon of any type. Schoolboy Oliver uses Ground and Rock-type Pokémon that take advantage of the sandstorm, he tends to use Pokémon like Rhyhorn, Cubone, Corsola, Magcargo, and many others. Sailor Curt uses an Ice-type and some Water-types, he will likely have either Smoochum or Delibird, and he does like to switch out depending on what he has. Swimmer♀ Darcy likes to use Attract, and she tends to use Normal-type Pokémon, but there are some that part Flying-type, like Farfetch'd and Togetic which she can use. Officer Gerald specializes in Fire and Grass-type Pokémon, and he likes to make use of Sunny Day, he will always have Skiploom, while for Fire-types, the most likely are Magby, Magcargo, and Growlithe, some of his Grass-types can use SolarBeam to take advantage of the sun. Kimono Girl Emiko uses Pokémon of different types, she doesn't have a set type with her team, then next is Scientist Roberto, he uses Dark, Ghost, and Psychic-type Pokémon, he will always have Gasty, Houndour, and Wobbuffet on his team, he likes to use Double Team, and when fighting Wobbuffet, depending on what you end up with, if you have a Pokémon with Toxic, you can use that to stall out Wobbuffet. The last opponent is Gentleman Travis, he does not have a set type, as he uses Pokémon of many different types.
