Enter the Burned Tower for the first time and you’ll see your rival talking about the legendary Pokémon. For the 3rd battle, his Gastly has evolved with the addition of Magnemite. Haunter will use Curse to sacrifice its own HP then make the target lose ¼ of its HP every turn with the curse. Magnemite is not only Electric type, but in this generation and on, it’s also Steel type, so Normal and Rock type attacks won’t be as effective, but Fire and Ground type attacks will be more effective. Even if you use a Ground type against Magnemite, it can always use Supersonic to confuse then Sonicboom to cause a set amount of damage. Zubat will use Confuse Ray, a fully accurate confusing move then Bite to make opponents flinch. After the battle, infiltrate the Burned Tower and go to the basement to meet the legendary Pokémon.
