With Poke Cup Master Ball R1 cleared with my Yellow Team, it is now time to step up a level and try to become Champions in the Gym Leader Castle by defeating the Elite 4 and Rival. During my Yellow Playthrough, I made sure my Rival evolved his Eevee into Jolteon so that in Stadium the Rival will use the lineup that has Joleton on his team and such. As mentioned from the last video, this lineup in particular is pretty bad to run since matchups coverage is not the best, most are average attackers, and none are really considered speedy in Gen 1 (Speedy meaning like the speed of a Starmie, Alakazam, Tauros, and such) In addition, a lot of these battles were Trial and Error with the matchups and patterns I was trying to deduct as I played along with the limited options to even have a shot at winning the match and even then that was challenging lol. I will admit the movesets for my team is not as optimal as they can possibly be considering the grim odds with the moves I used to begin with. I eventually won without the need to alter some moves, but I have high doubts it will get me through most of the Round 2 Fights. The only alterations I considered was using 120 Power Moves like Blizzard and Fire Blast, fissure for Blastoise for some mons it can outspeed if it comes to a point and same for Charizard. (Or perhaps body slam as well for para hacks) It is very unfortunate that I missed out on Sleep Powder for Venusaur before level 51 due to how I did not keep it an Ivysaur up to Level 46 in Gen 1. (It would have helped a ton to force an opposing mon Sleep Status) Likewise, if I cannot get the Dub with these conditions, I might need to get another Bulbasaur offscreen from Stadium just for Sleep Powder and try from there.
