Pokemon Stadium - Trying to Clear Round 2 Elite 4 + Rival with Red's HGSS Team Part 4 of 4
Reminder: the Rival's R2 Team is the one with Jolteon as his Eevee Evolution to make it super challenging.
List of the other Parts to the Attempt Grinding for this Set of battles:

My Team's Moves for this Part of the Grinding:
Pikachu with Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Seismic Toss, and Surf
Venusaur with Razor Leaf, Sleep Powder, Double-Edge, and Leech Seed
Charizard with Flamethrower, Substitute, Earthquake, and Slash
Blastoise with Surf, Toxic, Earthquake, and Substitute
Snorlax with Body Slam, Self-destruct, Double-Edge, and Earthquake
Lapras with Body Slam, Psychic, Blizzard and Thunderbolt
Here it is the finale to the Round 2 Elite 4 + Rival Grind with Red's HGSS Team. As mentioned from last video, I decided to give Lapras Body Slam back just in case I need to try some attempt of Paralyzing a mon and or do Physical Damage to Agatha's Jynx or Alakazam so Agatha might reconsider sending both of them out to dominate me like she did in the last video. Venusaur with Double-Edge was just for an accurate finishing move to avoid missing with Razor Leaf and or avoid the Sleep Powder fest on Bruno's Muk lol. All I can say is the Elite 4 Battles were self-explanatory and straightforward with what I needed to do to score the win. The Substitute Charizard was just for Agatha's fight so I knew when to use it and such. Now the Rival Fight was very intense from start to finish. To be honest, I thought it was all over when Exeggutor got to hit my Snorlax through Paralysis since literally my Blastoise and Lapras are weak to Jolteon, but my Blastoise from Yellow managed to show he got them great Defense and Special DVs to withstand a Thunderbolt XD. The 1v1 is Arcanine was nerve wrecking since 1 single crit or para hacks from Arcanine would have been game for me like the many other attempts that died in these R2 Fights. (Also I had no Surf because Lapras needed the other 4 Good Moves that got me past the Elite 4 :o) With the Rival beaten. I have managed to get Red's HGSS Team in the Hall of Fame in both Rounds of Poke Cup Master Ball and Elite 4 + Champion. I would admit it was quite an interesting and fun experience to just dive into these battles and figure out the pattern from the opponents and determine which moves were considered optimal and unoptimal to get through these trainers. The main parts that were annoying was fighting the R2 Psychic and going back to Trainer 1 as it just shows Red's Team is at a big disadvantage to contest Psychic mons and also the amt of luck required to avoid being hit by a crit or special drop. (Not to mention the 7 fights prior are Hard in its own difficulty level) I know Gen 1 is wonky with its Crits, but it did not help the Opponents was just landing those on me 6-10 times consecutively and my hopes of a Crit came like every 20-30 moves I would hit them. (I am not counting Razor Leaf or Slash since those are 100% guaranteed on Venusaur and Charizard) At one point, I just stopped hoping for Crits no joke and was just taking note of the damage rolls I dished out and prayed the opponent does not crit me XD. (Believe me I lost all faith in criting when I rolled like 1-3 Crits against Psychic after 10+ continues used on his fight along with the retries on Elite 4) With that mentioned, I am happy to say I am almost done with Pokemon Stadium content. The only thing I want to do now is to replay the Stadiums and Gym Leader Castle, but run it with only Psychic Type Pokemon with Petit cup being the exception since there are only 4 Baby Psychic type mons available there. Reason I am considering this is just because of how busted they are and I sort of want to end these AIs as some crazy revenge onslaught lol XD. Enjoy
