There is no Mystery Gift code for this week, so we can start the Surprise Trade, and for this week, I will be trading Oranguru, this Pokémon is exclusive to Shield, so it does a good Pokédex filler for Sword players. I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Sassy for the Nature, Oranguru is very slow, and it can work with Relaxed as well, or a Nature that lowers Attack like Bold or Calm, and I didn't go with the Hidden Ability of Symbiosis, what that does is the user gives its held item to an ally that has used their held item, while it's a nice effect, there is no reason to use that over Telepathy or Inner Focus.
For Egg Moves, Oranguru can learn Extrasensory, Yawn, Dream Eater, and Last Resort, I will list which parents in the Field Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Dream Eater: Munna, Musharna
Extrasensory: Vulpix, A-Vulpix, Ninetales, A-Ninetales, Nuzleaf, Shiftry
Last Resort: Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Lillipup, Herdier, Stoutland, Minccino, Cinccino, Sylveon, Dubwool
Yawn: Wooper, Quagsire, Dunsparce, Hippopotas, Hippowdon, Munna, Musharna

While these moves are decent enough, none of them see use on Oranguru in online battles, there is only one format it is ever used in, which I will go over when it comes to that, and Extrasensory is a good move to have when going through the main game, as it is better than the starting Confusion it would have.
Oranguru does get Taunt as a starting move as well, and for its level up moves, it can learn After You, Calm Mind, Stored Power, Psych Up, Quash, Nasty Plot, Zen Headbutt, Trick Room, Psychic, Instruct, Foul Play, and Future Sight. Instruct is Oranguru's signatutre move, this allows its target to repeat the last move it used.
Next are TMs and TRs, it can learn Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Light Screen, Reflect, Rock Slide, Imprison, Brick Break, Wonder Room, Magic Room, Bulldoze, Psychic Terrain, and Brutal Swing for possible moves, and for TRs, it can learn Thunderbolt, Thunder, Earthquake, Psyshock, Encore, Shadow Ball, Trick, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, and Ally Switch, and for Tutor moves, it learns Terrain Pulse and Expanding Force.
Then for competitive battles, while Oranguru is mainly used in Double Battles, I will start with Single Battles, it is not that good, I always tend to underestimate Oranguru's Special Attack stat, it is base 90, because I usually see it as a Pokémon with base 80 Special Attack. I looked to see which Pokémon also had base 90 Special Attack, most of them include Pokémon like Butterfree, Raichu, Bellossom, Ludicolo, and Shiinotic, while some of them aren't seen frequently in online battles, Ludicolo was once a popular Pokémon in rain teams back when Drizzle summoned permanent rain, and Politoed even has base 90 Special Attack, and that thing was very common in Gen 5 competitive battles. The best set for Oranguru that comes to mind is Nasty Plot to boost its Special Attack and attempt to sweep with moves like Psychic, Thunderbolt, and Shadow Ball, but it is outclassed by better Psychic-type Pokémon.
Where Oranguru really shines is in Double Battles, this is because of its signature move Instruct, and with Telepathy, if a teammate uses a move like Surf or Earthquake, Oranguru can have that teammate repeat the move to make them use it again, and Oranguru can avoid damage entirely with Telepathy. Oranguru's best teammates are slow Pokémon that can utilize multi-target moves, some examples are Torkoal's Eruption, and specially when Trick Room is up. Oranguru itself can use damaging moves like Psychic or Foul Play to fill in, most sets tend to have Instruct and Trick Room. Oranguru can even use moves like Brutal Swing, specially when it has Ice Rider Calyrex as its teammate to activate Calyrex's Weakness Policy, and that will ensure it sweeps the opponent's team, because Ice Rider Calyrex is a devastating force in Trick Room.
As with going through the main game, as I did breed Egg Moves onto them, Extrasensory and Yawn are good moves to have, because had I not given them Extrasensory, Oranguru will be stuck with Confusion until Level 45 when it learns Psychic, Stored Power is a bit situational, as Oranguru will need to boost its stats with moves like Calm Mind or Stored Power to get the best use out of Stored Power. The downside to using Oranguru in the main game is that it faces competition with many other Psychic-type Pokémon like Gardevoir, Hatterene, Espeon, Mr. Rime, and some others, it's not a bad Pokémon, it's just outclassed by better Psychic-types.
