I go from one Fossil Pokémon to another, last week was Archen, and this week I will be trading Aerodactyl, so that's one Rock/Flying-type Fossil Pokémon to another one. I usually breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I have Unburden on Aerodactyl, this is because it is the better Ability go with when using Aerodactyl, and I went with Jolly for the Nature, as it has a high Speed stat and a good Attack stat.
For Egg Moves, I went with Tailwind, Roost, Wide Guard, and Whirlwind, as I found them to be the best ones for Aerodactyl, it does also get Curse and Dragon Breath, but I didn't find them to be worth going for, I will list which parents in the Flying Egg Group that can learn those moves.
Curse: Zubat, Golbat, Farfetch'd, G-Farfetch'd, Crobat, Skarmory, Sirfetch'd (Requires Chain Breeding)
Dragon Breath: Swablu, Altaria, Archen, Archeops
Roost: Hoothoot, Noctowl, Wingull, Pelipper, Pidove, Tranquill, Unfezant, Fletchling, Fletchinder, Talonflame, Hawlucha, Noibat, Noivern
Tailwind: Crobat, Xatu, Pelipper, Pidove, Tranquill, Unfezant, Sigilyph, Archen, Archeops, Rufflet, Braviary, Fletchling, Fletchinder, Talonflame, Noibat, Noivern
Whirlwind: Sigilyph, Rufflet, Braviary, Noibat, Noivern
Wide Guard: Wingull, Pelipper (Requires Chain Breeding)

Going over the Chain Breeding moves, Farfetch'd and Galarian Farfetch'd learn Curse from Torkoal, and there are a lot of Pokémon in the Field Egg Group that can get Curse through Breeding, and Curse can be passed from Farfetch'd onto Aerodactyl, and the Wingull line learn Wide Guard from the Tirtouga line, the Mareanie line, Mantine, and Araquanid.
Aerodactyl does not have any evolved forms, it did have a Mega Evolution, but that is no longer in the game, for level up moves, it can learn Bite, Ancient Power, Supersonic, Wing Attack, Scary Face, Rock Slide, Roar, Crunch, Iron Head, Take Down, Stone Edge, Agility, Hyper Beam, and Giga Impact.
Next is Aerodactyl's TM and TR moves, for TMs, it can learn Fly, Thief, Steel Wing, Sandstorm, Rock Tomb, Rock Blast, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Assurance, Bulldoze, and Brutal Swing, and for TRs, it can learn Earthquake, Iron Tail, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Stealth Rock, and Psychic Fangs, and even though it does get some Special moves, like Flamethrower, Earth Power, Hurricane, and Dragon Pulse, it doesn't have a good Special Attack stat to make use of those moves, and for Tutor moves, it can get Dual Wingbeat and Meteor Beam.
In online battles, Aerodactyl is at least decent, it's not the best Pokémon in the game, but it does have a high Speed stat and a good Attack stat to make use of, and it does get access to Dragon Dance to boost its Attack and Speed, and it can sweep with moves like Stone Edge, Earthquake, and Dual Wingbeat, and it is a good Dynamax user right after setting up a Dragon Dance, so it can use Max Airstream to improve its Speed further. I went with Unburden, while Pressure is nice, Aerodactyl is quite frail, and while it's unusual for a Rock-type to not have good defensive stats, Rock-type Pokémon have too many weaknesses to be a reliable defensive type. It does get Rock Head, but the downside is the only recoil move Aerodactyl learns in this game is Take Down, it did use to learn Double-Edge, but it can only learn that move in FireRed & LeafGreen through the Move Tutor, if Aerodactyl was able to learn Head Smash, then it could make use of Rock Head, and even though Brave Bird wouldn't make sense as Aerodactyl isn't a bird, but then again Crobat can learn Brave Bird for some strange reason.
As for Aerodactyl in Double Battles, the one nice thing is that it has access to Tailwind, and it is one of the fastest users of that move, but most players prefer Whimsicott or Tornadus, as they get Prankster and can set up Tailwind right away. Some nice moves Aerodactyl can get for Double Battles is Wide Guard to prevent damage from moves like Rock Slide and Icy Wind from opponents, and it can use Rock Slide to hit both targets, and Dual Wingbeat for a good Flying-type move.
In a full 6v6 battle, Aerodactyl can set up Stealth Rock, although it has to be wary of opponents that have Heavy-Duty Boots or know Rapid Spin, so the use of moves like Stealth Rock and Spikes do rely on a good team to try and remove their Rapid Spin user, and while Taunt is a good way, notably from a Pokémon with Prankster, like Sableye or Grimmsnarl, they can stop Aerodactyl from setting up Stealth Rock.
While it was unexpected to do another Fossil Pokémon for this week, Aerodactyl is a really interesting Pokémon, and it is one of few Rock/Flying-type Pokémon, the other being the Archen line, which I did last week, so that did surprise me that the random list would give me Aerodactyl for this week.
