If you are wondering where my Pokémon Sword & Shield online battles are for this week, I am putting them on hold until later on, because I might do a playthrough on the Isle of Armor, which did just release a few days ago. In this video, there is a special event where you can fight Zeraora in the Max Raid Battles, and if up to 1 million players total defeat Zeraora, all players can obtain a Shiny Zeraora, this event will be live for one week.
The Isle of Armor is mostly Wild Area, but I decided to go through the main Wild Area, so that way I don't spoil too many stuff in the Isle of Armor. We do see the return of some Pokémon and we also get some new moves through the Move Tutors, which I wll explain about.
Expanding Force: 80 Power Special Psychic-type move that doubles in power in Psychic Terrain.
Steel Roller: 130 Power Physical Steel-type move that destroys terrain.
Scale Shot: 25 Power Physical Dragon-type move that hits 2-5 times, and increases the user's Speed, but lowers Defense.
Meteor Beam: 120 Power Special Rock-type two-turn move that boosts Special Attack.
Misty Explosion: 100 Power Special Fairy-type move that increases in power in Misty Terrain, user faints.
Grassy Glide: 70 Power Physical Grass-type move that has priority in Grassy Terrain.
Rising Voltage: 70 Power Special Electric-type move that doubles in power in Electric Terrain.
Terrain Pulse: 50 Power Special Normal-type move that changes type and power depending on terrain.
Skitter Smack: 70 Power Physical Bug-type move that lowers the target's Special Attack.
Burning Jealousy: 70 Power Special Fire-type move that burns opposing Pokémon if their stats are boosted on that turn.
Lash Out: 75 Power Physical Dark-type move that doubles in power if users stats are lowered on that turn.
Poltergeist: 100 Power Physical Ghost-type move that will fail if the target is not holding an item.
Corrosive Gas: Poison-type move that destroys all held items.
Coaching: Fighting-type move that boosts the ally's Attack and Defense stats.
Flip Turn: 60 Power Physical Water-type move in which the user switches out.
Triple Axel: 20 Power Physical Ice-type move that hits up to three hits and increases in power for each hit.
Dual Wingbeat: 40 Power Physical Flying-type move that hits twice.
Scorching Sands: 70 Power Special Ground-type move that can burn the target.
Now onto Zeraora, this Pokémon first appeared in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, it is a tough opponent, so it is best to prepare some Ground-type Pokémon for this one, and there is a rare chance of finding a Shiny Zeraora, and that thing is even harder than a regular Zeraora. This Pokémon learns a wide variety of moves, and its best stat is Speed, which is one point higher than Dragapult, and not only that, Zeraora has good Attack and Special Attack, so it can work as a mixed attacker. I have checked into base stats, and Zeraora has almost similar stats to Dragapult.
Onto Zeraora's movepool, its signature move is Plasma Fists, a 100 power Physical Electric-type move that changes all Normal-type moves to Electric-type moves, and Zeraora's Ability is Volt Absorb, so any Normal-type moves the opponents uses, Zeraora can recover HP from. It can also learn moves like Close Combat, Thunder Punch, Wild Charge, Hone Claws, and a few others. It has a good TM and TR movepool, like Fire Punch, Thunder Wave, Brick Break, Bounce, Low Sweep, Drain Punch, Acrobatics, Low Kick, Outrage, Blaze Kick, Superpower, Iron Tail, Bulk Up, Aura Sphere, Grass Knot, Throat Chop, Play Rough, and many other moves. This Pokémon has great versatility, and Zeraora is more preferred as a Physical attacker, it can use Bulk Up to boost its Attack and Defense, and deal some great damage with moves like Plasma Fists, Close Combat, Play Rough, and Blaze Kick, and unfortunately it cannot get Knock Off in this game, because the only way to have Knock Off on Zeraora is to transfer it from Gen 7.
While it is good to see a Mythical Pokémon being distributed through a Max Raid Battle if up to 1 million players can defeat Zeraora, it would be good to see those kinds of events happening in the future, specially once the Crown Tundra comes out, which will have almost every Legendary Pokémon from Generations 1 to 7, and you do get some good rewards for defeating Zeraora, like Dynamax Candies and some other good items. Another topic about Mythical Pokémon is that Magearna can now be transferred into Pokémon Sword & Shield, and I believe there was a rumour where if you deposited all 890 Pokémon into Pokémon HOME, you would obtain an Original Color Magearna, and now that Magearna is one of the included Pokémon in the update, it is possible to have an Original Color Magearna in Sword & Shield.
