The first Pokémon Sword & Shield DLC is now live, and you can explore a new area called the Isle of Armor. This is the same file from my Pokémon Sword Playthrough, and starting things off, I go to Wedgehurst, find a Galarian Slowpoke at the station, and travel to the island, where some Pokémon previously not native to Galar can be found.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

I continue from my Pokémon Sword Playthrough, but this time we check out the first DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield, the Isle of Armor, I don't understand why it's not spelt "Armour", because Galar is based on Britain, and some characters throughout the game reference British terms.
Galarian Slowpoke can be found a the station, and it was revealed back in the Pokémon Direct back in January 9th, it is a pure Psychic-type that evolves into Galarian Slowbro in the Isle of Armor, I won't go over Slowbro yet, so I will wait until we find the item required to evolve Galarian Slowpoke.
When you arrive at the Isle of Armor, you will battle Klara, a Poison-type user, her team is Venipede and Galarian Slowpoke, so she shouldn't be too difficult. In Shield, it would be a Psychic-type user called Avery, and his team is Abra and Galarian Slowpoke. If you have beaten the main story like I have, the trainers will have Pokémon at Level 60, otherwise they would be at Level 12 at this point.
You can find a bunch of Pokémon in the Isle of Armor, and you get a new Pokédex containing Pokémon previously not native to Galar. Starting with the Fields of Honor encounters, first up is Buneary, it is unfortunately not too great, it evolves into Lopunny with a high enough friendship, but its stats are a bit underwhelming, and you can't get Mega Lopunny in this game, and you can catch a Lopunny in the wild, so there is no point in raising a Buneary.
Jigglypuff has high HP, but very underwhelming stats, it can be evolved into Wigglytuff with a Moon Stone, and it has a great movepool, with moves like Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Psychic, Thunderbolt, and several other moves. It could be decent early on, but I wouldn't use it as a full term member.
Abra can be tough to catch, so prepare a Quick Ball ready, and assuming you have completed the main story, you can evolve Abra into Kadabra in one level, and by trading, you can get Alakazam right away. Alakazam is a very powerful Special Attacker, and it can use moves like Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and many others, so if you want to try out some Pokémon on the Isle of Armor, I recommend it. If you don't have a way to trade, Kadabra can hold its own in battle, as its Special Attack is high enough to be usable.
Tentacool can be encountered in the water, it is an excellent Special wall when it evolves into Tentacruel, and it can use some good moves like Surf, Sludge Wave, and Giga Drain. It can fill in for a temporary team member if you want to use a Water-type Pokémon.
Klefki is a bit on the rarer side, it is a Steel/Fairy-type with Prankster, so if you teach it moves like Light Screen, Reflect, and Thunder Wave, it can annoy foes. Klefki has respectable stats to use moves like Flash Cannon and Play Rough, other than that, it is a bit average, I would say that Klefki is a Pokémon more suited for multiplayer than in single player.
Then we have Chansey, it has high HP, and it can evolve into Blissey with high enough friendship. Blissey has the highest HP in the game, and it is a great Special wall, downside is that it cannot take Physical hits, it's not the most recommended for single player, Blissey is better in competitive multiplayer, but then again Chansey with the Eviolite sees more use than Blissey. You can find its pre-evolved form Happiny as a random encounter.
For overworld encounters, you can find Rockruff, a Rock-type Pokémon that evolves into Lycanroc, and what makes Rockruff special is the form of Lycanroc, the Midday Form has higher Speed and can learn Accelerock, the Midnight Form has less Speed, but a bit more defenses. I don't know if it is based on versions, but it is based on the time of day, it wouldn't be too bad to use a Lycanroc on your team, it is one of my favourite Pokémon from Gen 7.
Comfey isn't too great, while Triage gives it priority with healing moves like Draining Kiss and Giga Drain. It is the only Pokémon to learn Floral Healing, which is like Heal Pulse where it can heal the target. Comfey is a Pokémon more suited for Double Battles.
You can also find Starmie, this is a great Pokémon to get, Starmie can learn Surf and Psychic, and through TRs, it can get Thunderbolt and Ice Beam, it has great Speed and Special Attack. If you want to use Pokémon from the Isle of Armor, I recommend Starmie, it is a great Pokémon to add to your team.
