The Spirited Fighter known as Misango is up for the ARMS Grand Prix, he was added in an update for ARMS, and he has some very unique abilities that affect his playstyle in battle.
Misango has a spirit companion in battle which will change colour from red to blue to yellow, when Misango shields, the spirit forms a pillar which protects Misango from attacks, and if Misango walks into the pillar, it will fuse with him, and the mask gives him different effects, the red mask makes Misango resilient to punches while jumping, dashing, or punching, so this can be good for defense, the blue mask increases his mobility, but decreases the his grab damage. The yellow mask fills up his Rush Gauge and gives him super armour during a Rush, but it decreases his movement speed, and if Misango is knocked down, his mask will be removed.
All of Misango's starting ARMS have the Poison attribute, he starts with Scorpio, Glusher, and Skully, any opponent hit by the Poison attribute ARMS will take 1 damage every half second, but if hit by again, the damage will be increased, but the poison cannot KO opponents, so it is good for getting in some pressure on foes. The Scorpio is a Unique type ARMS, well it's not the official name, but it does have a unique Ability that not many other ARMS have, it will fly at the target like a boomerang, and if the Scorpio hits the ground, it will run on the floor until it reaches its maximum length. Skully is also a unique ARMS, and it will fly straight at the opponent, and it has very little curving abilities. Glusher is a Heavy type ARMS which has similar traits to an Explosion attribute ARMS in which it will explode, and it is also capable to inflict the Poison attribute to opponents.
On the ARMS Institute, the Wiki for ARMS, the recommended ARMS for Misango are the Curve type ARMS, which work well because they can curve around the spirit pillar, some examples are Slapamander, Chakram, and Boomerang. He is the first and only character in ARMS to have the Poison attribute on his ARMS, well all of them, so working with Curve ARMS can help in most fights.
Misango's home stage is Temple Grounds, it has nice music, and like with Mechanica and Helix's home stages, there are pillars which can be destroyed if enough damage is done to them. It is a good stage to play on, and it fits very well with Misango, as it is based around a shrine, and for being a Spirited Fighter, this is a good stage for him.
As the ARMS character has yet to be announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at the time of these videos going up, Misango could end up being a very unique character with his spirit mask ability, and as his base ARMS have the Poison attribute, well the closest we have to poison in Smash Bros. is the Flower effect from the Lip's Stick, and it would be weird for Misango's poisonous punches to suddenly have a flower on the opponent's head, so this does seem to be a good option for an ARMS character in Smash Bros., but he's not that high on my list.
