Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon - Guardians Rising! + Kanto x Alola Results Revealed!
Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video thingy!
- Once again, I've got some Pokémon TCG booster packs to open up! This week will be Roaring Skies, Ancient Origins, and BREAKthrough, with the code cards (as always) going out to some lucky viewers. I'll open up the boosters near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive one of the code cards (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, April 2.
- The next expansion for Pokémon TCG is coming soon, Trainers! Sun & Moon - Guardians Rising will be releasing in North America on May 5, 2017. This expansion brings over 140 new cards, including 12 Pokémon-GX, 12 full-art Pokémon-GX, and 3 full-art Trainer cards. As always, the Heroes' Beacon Pokémon League that I Professor at will be hosting a special Prerelease Tournament, scheduled for April 30, and I'll be bringing you a video recap of the event soon thereafter.
- Along with the new TCG expansion comes, of course, a new Elite Trainer Box as well. Also releasing on May 5, this box will come with all the standard goodies you get in an Elite Trainer Box: 8 booster packs of the new Guardians Rising expansion, 65 card sleeves featuring Tapu Koko, 45 Energy cards (5 of each type), a player's guide to the new expansion, 6 damage-counter dice, a competition-legal coin-flip die, an acrylic marker for the Special Conditions of poison and burn as well as a GX marker, a collector's box with dividers to hold all these goodies, and a Pokémon TCG Online code card to unlock some special items in the online game.
- The Pokémon TCG: Kingdra-EX Box is now available! This collection features Kingdra-EX as a foil promo card, an oversized copy of the same Pokémon-EX, 4 booster packs, and a code card to unlock Kingdra-EX in Pokémon TCG Online.
- Coming in mid-May, Pokémon-EX haven't left the series just yet! The upcoming Pokémon TCG: Mega Powers Collection includes a pair of full-art foil promo cards of Mega Lucario-EX and Mega Manectric-EX, a Lucario Spirit Link card to allow you to Mega Evolve your Lucario-EX without ending your turn, two full-art foil promo cards of Jolteon-EX and Zygarde-EX, an oversized copy of Mega Lucario-EX, a whopping 8 Pokémon TCG booster packs, and a code card to unlock all of these promo cards in Pokémon TCG Online.
- The results of the Kanto X Alola Regional Rumble online competition are in! I, personally, did relatively horribly in the competition, ending with a rating of 1461, placing me at 46,288 out of 64,287 total players, but pffh. I don't even care. No biggie. The important thing is, I still earned my Pidgeotite and Steelixite Mega Stones! Information on how to obtain our Mega Stones for participating in the competition will be posted soon to the Pokémon Global Link website, so stay tuned for that.
- Festival Plaza's global mission, "Get BP at the Battle Tree", was an overwhelming success! All participating Trainers in the mission have earned 2,000 FC for taking part, or double that if your game is registered to your PGL account. In addition, since the bonus goal of 500,000 BP was met, all PGL members can access a special code to obtain a rare Heavy Ball! Go to the Pokémon Global Link and log into your account to get information on how to obtain your rewards.
- Two new Pokémon themes are available for purchase for your Nintendo 3DS system. The Sinister Organization - Team Skull theme features all the big names from the nasty Team Skull crew and their Pokémon, while the Shiny Tapu Koko theme features the shiny version of Melemele Island's guardian, along with some new Alolan species of Pokémon. Both themes include some Pokémon-themed music and sound effects, and are available for purchase from the theme shop for $1.99 each.
