Policies to Pick When Creating a Kingdom! (Sandbox Kingdom Creation) - Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Medicine Skill EXP Farming Guide - https://youtu.be/dCIx0flUF5w
FULL SCRIPT:
So in patch 1.4.1 , a new feature was introduced and that was the sandbox
kingdom creation mode.
Here is the update text seen in the patch:
" Implemented Sandbox Kingdom Creation, which is possible through the clan screen and not dependent on the main story line. Players need to have at least 1 settlement and a tier 4 clan. Then players can select their
kingdom's culture (consisting of their settlements' culture or their
own clan's culture), select their initial policies (up to 4) and, finally,
select the name for their new Kingdom. "
Now in this it states that you start with up to 4 policies when you begin,
and you should use all 4, there is no good reason to not use up all 4
slots.
In this video we will go over the top 4 policies you should choose and why
they are my top 4.
Then also go over some policies to get after your kingdom is established.
Here we go:
Order does not matter, but here is my top 4:
- First:
Royal Guard - Ruler's party size is increased by 80 and gain 1 influence
per day | non ruler clans lose 0.2 influence per day
This is by far one of the best policies in the game. As the ruler, you
gain 80 more party size which on most cases will bring your party size
from low 100s to 200. This is important because a lot of castles have about
200 or less garrisoned units by the time you reach clan tier 4.
The influence gain is also a positive and will give you influence over time
and eventually you will have enough for more policies and to call armies
when you eventually recruit other clans.
The negative lose of influence dosent matter because when you start a
kingdom, you do not have any other clans under you yet.
- Second:
Noble Retinues - Tier 4+ clans gain 1 influence per day and party size
is increased by 50
This policy is very similar to royal guard and it provides the same
positives and also no negative effect.
This policy is perfect for the sandbox start because you need to be tier
4 to start a kingdom. This will net you another 1 influence gain per day
which now puts you at +2 influence per day.
The party size increase is also amazing and will keep beefing up your
party, at this point you should have around 250 party size, even with a low
stewardship and few perks to increase party size.
BTW stewardship gives you one party size for every 4 levels of the skill
and there are a ton of perks that give you party size in the skill tree.
I have a video talking about how to maximize party size, i suggest you
check it out if you want to have 300+ party size. Link down below:

- Third:
Sacred Majestry - Ruler Clan gains 5 influence daily | non ruler clans lose
1 influence daily
This policy is just a huge increase to influence and will help you pass
more policies and raise more armies later on. Now you are up to +7
influence gain daily.
The negative does not matter right now because you do not have any clans
under you yet.
- Fourth:
Castle Charters - Castle upgrades are reduced by 20% | Castles give 1
influence per day
This policy is great for when you just start your own kingdom because
your aim should be castles in the beginning, they are way easier to take
over.
AI are also programmed to go after towns before castles, so lets say
they are at war with your kingdom(you own 2 castles) and another kingdom(
they own a few towns), the AI will try to take over a town before they try
to take your castles.
Now that you have a good start, i am going to list for you a couple of
good policies to look at, check them out, see if you like them and
propose them if you wish:
- Military Coronae
- Serfdom
- Fuedal Inheritance
- Magistrates
- Senate
- Lords' Privy Council
- Hunting Rights
Good luck!
