Selling to Lords, Selling Workshops & Best 1.4.1 Workshops
- Selling to Lords
If you are going the smithing route or have a huge amount of very valuable
items that are worth over 30K+ , you will find it very hard to sell to
any town unless you want to also buy everything in the town to equalize
your items value.
Best way to sell a huge amount of high value goods is to other lords,
especially rulers and owners of a lot of fiefs. Theses lords have
huge amount of denars.
There is a downside and it is that any lord, regardless if your reputation
is negative or +100, will only pay 35-42% of the item value.
Regardless of the pay cut, if you have a lot of items sitting around, it is
better to sell them even at the discounted rate to get your denars up.
- Selling Workshops
This is more of a reminder for anyone who has workshops in settlements
that they do not own:
- If you are not with any kingdom yet, your workshops are safe unless you
go out and do something hostile like attacking villagers, caravans or
villages. If you do something hostile towards the kingdom that your
workshop is a part of, you will lose it and go to war with that kingdom.
- If you are a vassal or mercenary of a kingdom, make sure your
workshops are a part of that kingdoms towns because that kingdom can
wage war on any other kingdom randomly. This will result in you losing a
workshop if it is currently in a neutral kingdoms territory and not under
your rulers kingdom.
- Before you make your own kingdom, please go and sell off your workshops.
Once your own kingdom is started, there is always a chance to lose any
other workshop on the map because any kingdom can wage war on you randomly.
- Usually selling a workshop that you have had for a while will actually
raise in price from your original buy in and selling it is a great one time
boost and a much safer choice than risking it and then losing your whole
investment.
- Best 1.4.1 Workshops
In terms of overall top 3, it goes like this:
Tannery - NEEDED: Hides / Linen
Smithy - NEEDED: Iron / Hardwood
Brewery - NEEDED: Grain
Now in terms of late game, smithy is the best, tanneries fall to spot 2
and brewery is still number 3.
The transition of tanneries falling off and smithy going to the top
cannot really be explained, it just happens.
Breweries stay the same because there is always grain everywhere on
the map
