Poltergeist on TRS-80 - Horror Retrogaming - Tandy Radio Shack Computer Gameplay
I can't even believe that there is a video game based on the 1982 horror classic Poltergeist. I've certainly never heard of one, and I was only ever vaguely familiar with the TRS-80 home computer (otherwise known as the Tandy Radio Shack Computer) which was the pc that the game was released on. This game is super silly and super bad, which is to be expected, really. It is one of the earliest games I've ever played, and certainly the oldest Horror adaptation I've ever come across. In fact, this very well could be the first horror game period. Its still a terrible game, though. :P
Every Thursday, I put out a video in my Horror Retrogaming Series. In this series, I'm trying to illustrate how horror has been presented and evolved in gaming these past few decades. I will trace this evolution by playing adaptations of horror movies and books, early survival horror games, and any horror retro games that tried to actually be scary. I'm a huge horror fan, and this series is the flagship of my channel.
