Ponchi-kun 2 [ポンチークン2] Game Sample - PC/Doujin
Soooooo muuuuuch Doujin. This is a small Doujin striptease Mahjong-style game by Doujin Circle D-Ten, who have been around since the early 90s. Released in 1997 (08/15/97) for Windows 95, it is an enhanced remake of a Doujin game of the same name that they made two years prior for the PC-98, which is a sequel to the original Ponchi-kun released in 1991. It features an enhanced "full color" spectrum, cleaner artwork with minimal animations, a few new illustrations, and enhanced music and a little spoken dialogue. This is just a simple video for our records.
For what it's worth, the music (composed by CHEMOOL who also did numerous PC-88 and PC-98 soundtracks and contributed to the Firecracker sound collection) slaps and D-Ten had the potential to make more games but seems to have disappeared by the late 90s. The game also runs flawlessly on Windows 10, though you can't play the game without the CD (meaning it would need to be burned to a disc or ISO to distribute). It utilizes a simple mouse interface (the cursor wasn't necessary to display while recording this).
The player starts with a small pool of points in which to defend themselves while the ladies start with 10,000 points. Just like in typical Mahjong, different hands will yield different results with the Dora tile being selected at random. The game is greatly simplified as you can call as much as you want without incident and the game will automatically pause if the opponent drops a tile that will yield you a winning hand. Part of the reason is that it's based on a variant of Mahjong, "Ponjan" (ポンジャン), aka "Donjara", which is a kids version of Mahjong in Japan, but this is tailored to adults so the illustrations would be relatively easy to get. As such, no Kans are necessary-- just three of a kind (Pon/Chi), and the game uses symbols that are easy to understand. The ladies must be defeated three times or lose all 10,000 points to be defeated in their entirety (if you defeat them with a powerful hand early, all remaining CGs will be displayed). The game does store your save data and you can revisit CGs in the game's CG Mode. After everyone is defeated, you only need to defeat any one opponent to keep seeing the ending and credits.
This game is relatively softcore with five illustrations per girl (with two showing skin). While any major scenes have been censored, the game was marked for adult audiences. These types of games will be age-restricted and placed in their own playlist in the future. With this channel's broad appeal, it's something that should've been done ages ago (especially if I REALLY want to pursue Japanese PC titles in their entirety), but... live and learn I guess. This video battles the only female of legal age (by U.S. standards), Touko Nii, shows the credits, another female, and plays the full version of the title theme. Enjoy.
