Well, this isn't quite it, but the end is nigh!
The heroes cross the bridge to Tyranthraxus' castle, ready to put an end to his reign of terror and bring peace to the Moonsea region!
First, we want to finish checking out the outer buildings in the northeast quadrant of the castle grounds. It turns out to be good that we do--there are slaves to be freed!--but it also takes a lot longer than anticipated.
Then, we head into the hedge maze, partially mapped from an earlier foray and two helpful documents recovered from Kovel Manor. Nonetheless, this also turns out to be trickier than anticipated! Confident that one of the central towers is where we want to go, we crawl through the maze looking for entrances to them, finding one to an empty room and one to the lair of a decoy Tyranthraxus.
Eventually, we bumble into the solution: the empty room contains a special type of hidden door that doesn't appear from searching: you need to bump right up against the correct wall to find it! From here, we enter what is clearly the central lair of Tyranthraxus, experience a few encounters, stumble into a room with a strangely radiant pool, a bronze dragon, and a bunch of level 8 fighters, and then... well, we lose and I'm out of time.
So, presumably, we've found Tyranthraxus himself (I thought metallic dragons were supposed to be good guys?) and are on track to save Phlan next time! All we need to do is work out a strategy for fighting Level 8 fighters!
