Post transcriptional modifications aka PTMs are very important for concept building in transcription. The introns must be spliced by spliceosomes which are made up of snRNA and proteins. 7 methyl GTP is added on 5 prime end of of hnRNA while polyadenylation is done on 3 end of mRNA in order to protect it from degradation by enzymes like phosphotases and nucleases. Post transcriptional modifications occur in eukaryotes.
The lecture is very important for Biology class 12 , BSc , Mdcat, NEET , EATA and other competitive exams and entry tests.
