In this lecture we are going to discuss the experiment conducted by Freidrick Griffith in 1928.
He used two strains of streptococcus pneumoniae which are R type (non virulent) and S type ( virulent).
The experiment was conducted on mice and he was looking for a vaccine against streptococcus pneumoniae but accidentally discovered process of transformation. This was the first step towards Discovery of DNA as hereditary material
