Potions: A Curious Tale Part 1: Arriving in Old Haven Playthrough
4In the playthrough, I defeat the Kraken and arrive in Old Haven, where Luna meets her grandmother. I then do the initial quests of gathering ingredients, brewing potions, and finding Baba Yaga. I also complete the quests to gather resources for Baba Yaga and find Mary in the forest.
I am enjoying Potions: A Curious Tale so far. I like that you get a broom fairly early on in the game, so you can travel quickly around the world. I also like that once you unlock an area, you can fast travel there, such Baba Yaga's hut in the forest, instead of having to go through the previous areas of the forest each time. Furthermore, I LOVE Helios and how pessimistic he is, and I like that you use potions for combat, but you can also use the environment to defeat enemies.
With that said, there are a few downsides. The movement can be clunky, and I have run into objects in the environment numerous times. Also, I have accidentally used potions and I found myself keeping the mouse on an empty spot to avoid accidentally using them. I also did not realize that potions you craft but do not equip are kept in the satchel by the cauldrons, so I found myself frantically looking for a satchel to get the potions I needed. Lastly, there is no map, so I felt like I was blindly running and flying around to find the next level and where the next objective is. I am curious about what the game will be like as the story progresses, and I am unsure if I would recommend it at the current price point.
In Potions: A Curious Tale, you play as Luna, who is a young witch. You craft potions to overcome obstacles, gather items from enchanted lands, and conquer devious puzzles.
