This boutique tabletop campaign promises a deep card game with hand management and deckbuilding mechanics, where sequencing cards properly for the different characters is key to victory. With plenty of options and a plethora of gear to be crafted, players will be able to customize all sorts of playstyles to adapt to the wide variety of bosses they’ll encounter, each with their own unique behavior reaction cards and necessary tactics to defeat them. Accommodating for one shot sessions and solo play, Primal offers a vast amount of content for many types of players, perhaps to its detriment as yet another massive Kickstarter game with tons of add ons marring the organization plus rulebook challenges that come with the territory.
