This was the version most people recommend, but I don't think you'd have a true appreciation for this game without playing the original or DOS version first. This game takes the classic and improves upon in it in just about every way. It's a great remake. It takes all of the classic levels retools them and adds some new ones as well. It even adds a bunch of new bosses to boot. There's actually music in the game this time instead of silence. That's already a step up. For most levels. The graphics look great and more colorful. The animations aren't as smooth as the original, but they do look nice nonetheless. The controls are also much faster and more responsive. Still not perfect though. There is still some weird sluggishness to them, but definitely better. The added levels are cool and they even add some new traps and obstacles. The combat is faster paced and smoother as well. It's also still just as brutal as the original, just with more dying in the extra 8 levels. This is probably the definitive version of the game, but that's barring you aren't head over heels about the original and don't like change. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
