After Prince of Persia 2 I was honestly thinking of never playing a game again and questioned whether I should continue on with the series at all. This game is early 3D jank for sure, but it was much better than I though it would be. Basically if you combined Tomb Raider with Prince of Persia you get this. It's not half bad. I heard that the Dreamcast version refined some of the game and fixed some bugs, but I heard that it also removed some of the levels. I wanted to experience this game in all of its glosry so we played the PC version and I'm glad that I did. First off you have save states, err, save anywhere instead of checkpoints and that's amazing. You can test the waters constantly and not worry too much about consequences. There are some really sneaky and rough traps and jumps and it makes life so much better having a quick save feature. The game itself is what you would expect from a 3D action adventure game of the late 90's early 2000's. It's tank controls and the platforming is not great. The combat is a real mess and I will say I never took the time to get it. You can cheese most enemies and "bosses". The only real boss is the final one and he was certainly tough since you had a time limit. The levels themselves were fine and the environments were decent. Lots of neat locales. There were also a bunch of different kinds of enemies. You get 4 different weapons including a bow with a bunch of different arrows. The only useful weapon seemed to be you sword though. The bow does help with snipers, but I largely ignored. it. I spent a lot of time exploring, I don't think the game is all that long at around 17 levels. They can be a bit confusing and maze like, but most are pretty straightforward. I think my favorite was the Moon Temple. You have some really cool puzzles to sole there and it's not just combat and platforming. Overall, this game was pretty darn fun, Enjoy my blind play through.
