I dig the crap out of this game. What a clever concept. I'm not a pinball fan at all, but this game mixes genres up and that's really neat. It's a metroidvania platformer that mixes in pinball mechanics and I can easily say I have never seen anything like this before. The isn't all that hard, but holy crap is it fun to play. I could see some people thinking that the pinball is a bit hard to control and get going where you need to, but it works fairly decently. The word is a delight and right from the game's starting menu I knew I was going to like this. The music is amazing in this game. Every new gorgeous area has a beautiful tune to accompany it. The island is gorgeous and a ton of fun to explore. I was curious how they were going to introduce new movement mechanics into a pinball based game. And I can say that I was a bit surprised. Most of the extra movement is independent of the pinball mechanics. Which is fine. My biggest complaint is that the camera moves way too much, especially when you get your tether hook, and it violently swings around at times. Aside from that you do get this really cool party whistle and can toot to your little hearts content. Even at friends. It's wonderful. This is what Sonic Spinball fans wanted their game to be. There are even bosses. They are all gimmicks and require some real Tommy the pinball wizard type control, but are super fun to figure out. I did manage to get 100% and all the stupid scarabs, which don't count towards completion. It really is a delightful surprise of a game mxing up genres and mechanics in a unique and pleasurable way. Enjoy my blind playthough.
