Privateer Press- let's assemble random models that came in the mail!
Privateer Press continues to make some of my favorite models. I probably haven't played a Warmahordes game proper in a LONG time, but that doesn't stop me from continuing to enjoy the models they release.
Today we have Akodo Toturi of the Lion Crate- a limited mini crate model that will be next to impossible to hunt down on the secondary market, General Thunderstone Brug for Riot Quest, and the Iron Mother Directrix for the Convergence of Cyriss faction for Warmachine.
Once more with the mini crate models, I love the sculpts but hate the process of acquiring them. I didn't realize he'd even been released and got very lucky on eBay. The last few Legends of the Five Rings models they've done have been not to my taste so I hadn't been paying close attention. Model was easy to build (most of the mini crate ones are) but he looks great with all the other samurai models I've been painting- and yes, one of these days I'll show them all off.
General Thunderstone is such a fun goofy model. I haven't played Riot Quest against another person STILL, but by the time it's safe to play in person again I'm sure I'll have most of the range finished up by then. Plus his cigar is a great touch.
The Iron Mother though... man I dig this model. I just wish they made a version with her wings displayed. She's like the opposite problem of Lich Lord Terminus- she'd look pretty cool with her wings out where he'd look much better with his tucked in. Or just redone. Terminus is a bit of an abomination these days with all the metal, pinning, and green stuff involved in getting him serviceable for the tabletop. I doubt we'll see the Iron Mother get a resculpt like some of the older casters- after all, I'm still waiting on Xerxis model that actually stands upright on his own two feet.
