Project: Hard Drive 20 years dead. Can I resurrect it?
20 Years ago, I was sitting in my apartment copying some files to this Hard Drive when there was a very loud pop and it never worked again. Maybe this was due to the apartment not having been wired with grounded outlets. On the other hand, I never had this problem with any OTHER hard drives I used there. Anyhow. I saved it. A few years later when I had saved some money, I tried ONTRACK data recovery. After a non-refundable $100 they told me they couldn't even get it to spin up. Seriously? Like couldn't they have just spun it with a power drill or something? They're a data recovery business after all. Don't they have tools for this kind of thing? Apparently not. But I still have the drive. And I saw a youtube video on how to get drives that have suffered a power surge to spin up. So I'mma try something I've never done before because I saw someone do it in a youtube video. This video:

That couldn't possibly go badly, could it ?
