This goes along with my prior video (it isn't the same mission playthrough, just another recording from the headset).

In my prior video, I talked about the settings on my 3080 and my frustration with not at least approaching the framerates of a 3090 with settings at max.

This video is just to show that with the settings I do have (1840p res, all graphics settings at 2 with Shadows at 3), I can get 72fps regularly in the headset when OBS isn't recording. It does drop out when I launch a lot of missiles or there are a lot of effects on the screen. Update: I've seen moved the res scale up to 120% to enjoy a little more clarity. I used to play at res scale 100%. This video is Free Mission #4 played on Hard. Mercenary skill level has Battlecruisers and land Battletanks with rail guns firing all the time, which also tanks the framerate.

If I manage to figure out a way to get more fps out of the card with this game in Oculus LInk, I'll update here.

Running on a i7-8700, 16GB 2666, RTX 3080 LHR, EVGA G3 850W PSU, Quest 2 72Hz, Oculus Link.

I've been trying to record a Quest 2 video for Half Life Alyx at 90fps and High Fidelity. For whatever reason the file errors out without telling me, so I haven't gotten a good file yet. The Jeff chapter was stuttering badly with loads (for that one I also tried to have the in-game detail meter running, maybe that contributed to the stutters), but afterwards I restarted the Quest 2 and my PC, and the next section (Antlions, without the detail meter) was vastly butter smooth. But sadly, no Quest 2 video yet. I'll keep trying. Update: Tried again after wiping out all the existing videos on the device. The game still ran smooth but had definite difficulty in the trash yard fight with all the antlions - the framerate there kept dropping lower. And the video failed again. I'll try again with a smaller length one.
