Proteus | AX Capital Ship CZ... in a Plasma Charger Clipper?! | Elite Dangerous Odyssey
The War for Minun has taken a turn for the worse and put us on the defensive with our wartime funds running dangerously low. Our only option for immediate financial relief is to assist Azimuth Biotech's Salvation / Caleb Wycherley with defending their latest and grandest weapon against the Thargoids: the Proteus Wave.
Azimuth has pledged plentiful Credits to any Commanders who assist in their efforts to crush the Thargoids. As the only remaining pilot in the Draconis Navy with extensive AX experience, I travel to HIP 22460 to lend a hand... in a Clipper...
I never said I was good at it.

Audio experimentation is ongoing - feel free to leave your feedback on how the video sounds!
For this video, I dialed back the bass to prevent it from overpowering the rest of the audio. Clipper boosts are extra bass-heavy since the SFX seemingly fires twice.

Dragonfire AX Clipper Build:
https://edsy.org/s/vOEdSoF
While this build was a ton of fun to fly, I'm actively optimizing it. Presently I've removed the Medium Beam Laser and replaced it with a third Modified Guardian Plasma Charger and changed the firegroups so that the Medium Hardpoints are in one and the remaining MGPC on the Large is in another. Grouping the Hardpoints like that allows me to use the Mediums to exert hearts and the Large Hardpoint to destroy them.
Unfortunately I am having some issues keeping this configuration cold enough to avoid incoming fire with a single Large Efficient | Thermal Vent Beam Laser without chugging heatsinks. I might need to swap to a Low Emissions Powerplant or try to work with the higher Distro Draw of my Long Range | Thermal Vent Beam Laser I use on my AX Gauss FAS.

PC Specs:
MSI GT75 Titan 8SF gaming laptop configured as follows:
Intel i7-8750H @ 2.20 GHz
NVIDIA RTX 2070
32 GB DDR4 RAM
A Pair of M.2 SSDs in RAID (512 GB in total)
A 1 TB storage SSD
With Elite on the M.2s and with the latest update (Update 12), there are few changes from Update 11. I get anywhere between ~30-80 FPS on the ground in Odyssey @ 1080p, depending on location and NPC density. Typically the game hovers around the lower end of that range and tends to vary a bit as I look around.
I've also noticed that my FPS in a space CZ is closer to 60-80 FPS with occasional drops down as low as the mid 30s as of late. AX CZs are seemingly worse for reasons I cannot explain, though I've noticed Windows has been acting up lately too...
I try to keep the FPS counter at the bottom left of the screen on at all times to give you an idea of what level of performance my PC can accomplish.
