1Having all the Helicopter upgrades is obviously highly recommended but it is possible to park the Helicopter on a safe rooftop and deal with the enemies in other ways. For the Hunters and Walkers at the first Hive, the military can get the job done themselves.
For the mandatory Hydras, position yourself in a way that you can't be targeted by many at once. Don't use Targeting on the Hydras as they're emerging, most of your shots are going to miss. Instead, aim manually at their base. Going too far will cause the Hydra to burrow underground, forcing you to lower you altitude to lure them out. Avoid their thrown cars and keep an eye on your minimap as they will occasionally relocate. There is a respawning Attack Helicopter here that has almost suicidal AI and this can result in mid-air collisions, so take note.
The Hydras and Hunters at the third location can be ignored but you might want to kill a few of them to make landings safe.
For the Supersoldier part, destroy the Bloodtox Pumper first. For the Soldiers themselves, use Blade or Musclemass. When the Supersoldier is blocking, any following melee attack will cause them to grapple you. They will sometimes do it as part of their regular attacks. Failing this grapple will result in heavy damage. Musclemass will increase the damage you deal on a successful counter. Spam Tendril Barrage for when they attack in mass. Avoid air attacks as they can grab you out of the air and slam you to the ground.
