PS4 discussion with Sony's Vice president Michael Denny - Gamescom 2013 Interview
Vice president of Sony Worldwide Studios' Michael Denny showcased seven new titles at Sony's Gamescom press conference in this interview he discusses the road ahead for PS4 and PS Vita as well as Sony's strategy with independent developers.
"We've announced a lot of our big AAA blockbusters and a lot of our other big AAA teams are just finishing up on PlayStation 3, the likes of Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, and even Quantic Dream. Going more into specifics on Everybody's Gone to the Rapture Denny had this to add:
"It was a teaser, it was deliberately a teaser. When you have a team that has done something like Dear Esther all you need to do is tease it to get people interested."
Another major announcement was Shadow of the Beast - the return of the old Psygnosis franchise:
"It's an interesting one. You know I started my career at Psygnosis back in the day and I think it's always been one of those titles that we've been constantly asked about. You know - "Shadow of the Beast - anything happening with Shadow of the Beast?". Permanently approached by people what's going to go on. So with PlayStation 4 coming up it did seem the right time to look at it and see if we could do anything else. The developer for it is a new startup based in the UK, Heavy Spectrum..."
