Description:

Zosma is an unsuccessful treasure hunter who accidentally falls into the lower levels of the Crescent Moon Tower. He's now trapped in unexplored territory, but at the same time, this means he can loot the place before his rival hunters can. Along the way, he teams up with a cat slime and a mysterious masked mage in order to climb the tower and find a way out.

1:23 Empty Ruins

Zosma wants to discover treasure in the ruins, but the place has already been looted by other hunters. There are a few enemies and some unopened chests, but that's about it. However, Zosma falls into a trapdoor in the very last room.

13:33 Vulpecula Vestige

Zosma finds himself deep underground, but there's a huge tower in front of him. How did all this fit underground? Is this even the same dimension?

Zosma spots a masked woman in a cloak, but she leaves without saying anything.

There's a statue of a cat slime, which comes to life. Although Zosma initially tells the slime to leave him alone, he relents and lets the slime join the party. Unfortunately, the slime is entirely AI controlled and may not perform the optimal actions for any situation, so you'll have to fight with the assumption that their next action won't help you. If they do something useful, treat it as a happy but rare miracle.

While exploring, you can pick up gems, which factors into your hunter rank. You can also find clues to find yellow chests that contain unique treasure. I struggled a bit with the moon statue clue, since this place is filled with moon statues.

I named the slime "Ignister," which is probably a representation of how bad I'm running that deck in Master Duel.

40:28 Boss: Masked Woman (Hard)

Unlike me, make sure to keep the companion at more than 100 HP, since Hi-Freeze can deal over 100 damage.

It turns out the masked woman, Penumbra, was just testing the party. She wants to get to the top of the Crescent Moon Tower too, and she can't do it alone while we need her to open the final door. However, Zosma doesn't trust her, and it's hard for the player to do so too considering that Torch's other games (except for Brave Hero Yuusha) have treacherous advisor characters.

Penumbra takes the party to a dimension where they can access shops and keep track of achievements. There's also a difficult bonus dungeon that's divided into several stages.

57:52 Expanding Void - Phobos

The enemies here are much stronger versions of the enemies from the first floor. Additionally, they are all random encounters rather than touch encounters, so you can't avoid them. While there's a save/exit right before the boss, you can only return to the dungeon entrance from Betwixt. I recommend grinding near the entrance until you feel confident you can go through the whole dungeon without running out of items.

Make sure both characters have fire resist rings, since the boss always opens with a fire AOE. To keep the boss from evading your attacks, you must attack and pop the balloons. He'll eventually revive the balloons, so save your Astra skill until then.

Clearing Phobos before entering the second story area results in a trophy.

You can return to the fifth floor to talk to Penumbra, but you can't continue onwards because the demo ends here.
