Today I am going to do a quick review on the Samba designed by Osanori Yamamoto and made by Pelikan.

This caught my eye during the release in June, not because of its mechanism, but just the combination of the woods. From the pictures on the website, the yellow coloured garapa looks so shiny, which contrasts so well with the wenge shell.

The puzzle is essentially a 3D packing puzzle with a restricted entry. The entrance has a satisfying mirrored symmetry of a diamond shape. The goal is to fit the three pieces of polyominoes into the shell, so that the opening is fully covered and the shell looks like it is fully filled.
