Hey everyone, this is Angel from Abyx Gaming with a brand new video for Cyberpunk 2077 where we are taking a trip down memory lane to take a look at musical 10 easter eggs hidden in the titles of some of the game's story missions and side jobs. These are 10 boomer songs that, depending on your age, you've probably never heard of unless you were messing around with your parent's vinyl records in the garage. I certainly know many of these, but the nitty-gritty details behind the meaning of the songs I had to look it out, so a big shout out to the website songfacts.com where all the musical wisdom for this video comes from.

I walk the line - I walk the line (1956) Johnny Cash, one of his most famous songs that talks about his promise to remain faithful to his first wife while he was on the road. This is one of the few songs that I never managed to come with a clear connection, because in this mission you are doing a job for the Voodoo Boys locating a van with some important tech.

Riders in the Storm, a tribute to the single from the L.A. Woman (1971) by The Doors. This is actually the last song recorded by the leader and sex symbol of the band, Jim Morrison before he tragically died of an OD a few weeks later. Many see this as an autobiographical account of Morrison's life, as he considered himself a Rider on The Storm. This matches perfectly with the scene where you are in the middle of a heavy sandstorm and also has a connection to Panam, which is trying to help her family despite being kicked out and now becoming a loner.

For the Side Job Stairway to Heaven, you will go deep into another meditation session with a weird monk. This makes a reference to the ultra hit Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin Untitled (IV) (1971) Led Zeppelin.

One of the side jobs in your hunt for all the Cyberpsychosis affected subjects is entitled Smoke in the Water by Deep Purple. The guy in the mission, a former military, does a complete mess in a location near the Pacifica beach Pier, which may not have a great connection with the actual meaning of the song that makes a reference to the fire that occurred on Dec 4th, 1971.

Knocking on Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan. This iconic song is written from the perspective of a dying Sherrif, which makes total sense as this is the last mission you can unlock in the game for Johnny Silverhand where he storms Arasaka Tower along Rogue and this other dude.

In Every Breath you Take, a reference to the ultra-popular hit single from the album Synchronisity (1983) by The Police (BR). Here you have to protect Blue Moon from a stalker as she walks down Kabuki, which makes total sense with the lyrics from the song which many people take as a love song, but is instead, talks about an obsessive stalker, just like the one tormenting Blue Moon.

Metallica's hit anthem Seek and Destroy - Kill 'Em All (1983) Metallica. In the story mission, you escape after abducting Hanako Arasaka and then try to survive an ambush by arasaka forces that try to claim her back, losing your good ol' pal Takemura in the way. This is exactly what the song portrays but from what would be the Arasaka forces' point of view.

In For Whom the Bell Tolls - Ride the Lightning (1984) Metallica, which is inspired in the novel by Ernest Hemingway, published in 1940. The novel tells the story of Robert Jordan, an American soldier fighting during the Spanish Civil war assigned to blow up a bridge., while the song focuses on the last moments of soldiers on the battlefield, which in the game serves as a prologue to the final story mission Knocking on Heaven's door which we already talked about.

Where is my mind - Surfer Rosa (1988) Pixies, which is unlocked in the "bad" ending of the game where you cooperate with Arasaka, ditch Johnny and spend some time aboard the Mikoshi space station.

Finally, the perfect match for one of the best side jobs in the game is Radiohead's Pyramid Song - Amnesiac (2001). And I have to give credit to my good friend Arthur, a Radiohead mega fan for helping me on this one. This side job, is the last part in the romancing quest for Judy. The song resembles the video for the single released back in the 2000's where a scuba diver journey's through the depths of the ocean traversing a sunken city, pretty much exactly what happens with you and Judy, uncovering personal details about her past and forging the bond with V before things get .... ummm ... interesting.
