Q*bert released in 1982 was ported to basically everything at the time including Atari 2600, 5200, ColecoVision, Commodore 64 and others. The isometric nature with puzzle gameplay made it a smash hit. The company Gottlieb developed Qbert. With a background in pinball machines they were able to use a pinball component to bang the side of the arcade cabinet, giving it a physically unique attribute and real-life sound effect. A voice synthesizer was going to be used in the game but in the end was not used as intended.
